Hey Gang,

You might all think im crazy, but after hearing two great success stories of two of my dad's friends who tried Nioxin and had good results, i have decided to give it a go.

I did a search and just about everyone beleives its a scam.
I don't wanna hear how crap it is i just wanna know if there are actually any other success stories out there.

By the way i'm 24 and a norwood 3V

thanks!!!

Never tried it !! and never will.

By the way i'm 24 and a norwood 3V

You could give it a go and reach a norwood 4 before you figure out it does not work or you could give finasteride, minoxidil and nizoral a go.

Thats 1mg Finasteride a day, Minoxidle 5% twice a day and Nizoral 2% 2-3 times a week. :D

By the way xcamx, Norwood 3V you say? can you please tell me your exact location.......................................

I use the shampoo. It is really nothing more than a good shampoo. It smells good and I like the way my scalp feels after. The scalp therapy is a scam I think I used it for a little while and didnt like it. But I like the shampoo and it says it removes dht from scalp so why not.

just because it says so doesn't mean it actually does. i mean if you like the shampoo and it feels nice, then that's good, but i don't think it does what you think.

Probably not but it is a pretty decent shampoo and if they throw some dht blocking ingredients like saw palmetto in there then it cant hurt I geuss.

except that saw palmetto doesn't work for hair loss. just because it blocks dht, even if it does, doesn't mean that it works for hair loss. and i doubt that a shampoo with saw palmetto would be effective anyway.

In addition to that, the Saw Palmetto won't get past the layer of dead skin on your scalp because it doesn't dissolve into a readily known carrier substance.

In other words, shampooing with Saw Palmetto will help hairloss just about as well as shampooing with aspirin would cure a headache. It won't.

Even if Saw Palmetto worked, using it in a shampoo is completely ineffective.

I've used Nioxin shampoo for...about 8 years perhaps. I got into the scalp treatments, which encourage circulation, but not seriously enough to be considered a fair trial.

Anyway, regarding the shampoo, I still trudged along and lost plenty of hair while using the shampoo for those 8 years. Now, of course, perhaps I would have lost more hair without it, but...I doubt it.

If you read Nioxin's website and the way they carefully word their claims, I think it's basically just good shampoo, but not meant to actually tackle hair loss in a serious manner. Who is to say that freakin' 99 cents Suave shampoo doesn't also remove "excess DHT" from the scalp? (I mean, isn't DHT embedded in the sebum, which is an oil-based substance, which is removed by all shampoos?). I think Nioxin tries to scam people into thinking their products actually do address hair loss. I've monitored their claims on their websites over the years, and they have retreated from their initial claims ever-so-gradually.

Bottom line from me: the shampoo probably didn't do much for me during my 8 years, but perhaps you'll have better results (though I doubt it).
