Hey, I have a few questions. I have looked on the forum for answers, but without much sucess. I am a diffuse thinner and I am currently taking 1.25 mg propecia and 5% rogaine twice a day, as well as once a day homade topical spironolactone ~2% liquid, twice a week nizoral 2%. I am two months in to everything except for the spironolactone which I started last month. Still no changes, but it is probably too early to see many changes.
1. Stress causes hairloss. I am currently in a stressful job (have been for the past 5 years). I have one more year in this job with crazy hours and crazy bosses i.e. lots of stress. After that things should be calm down a lot. Does the hair loss caused by stress grow back after the stressor is removed. or is it just that it stops progressing? I think I have mild male pattern baldness, but the past 5 years of stress is probably playing a larger role.
2. Has anyone used NOURISH : NIOXIN® Scalp Treatment? I currently use Nioxin shampoo and conditioner. I know the shampoo and conditioner do nothing for hair loss, I just like the way it makes my hair feel and smell. The scalp treament claims to help strengthen hair and is a spray on treatment much like rogaine. Does anyone have any comme nts on it or is it just another way to scam us thinning guys of our money? If it does anything, when should I use it in relation to my other treatments? Before or after the rogaine?
3. I have always had very fast growing hair. Does that mean I should see results from all of these treatments sooner than the average person? I have always wondered if the speed of my hair growth might be related to the thin (or small caliber) of my hair follicles. (kinda like how a factory that spits out tons of crappy walmart furniture in bulk vs a pricy furniture factory that produces less quanitity but better quality). Is that just a stupid theory of mine, or is there something to that. Is there some way to slow my hair growth (in exchange for better quality)? Since my hair loss has progressed, I find I need to go to better salons to get a haircut, and it would be nice if my hair grew at a normal pace. This every couple of weeks is starting to tax the wallet.
I know this is a long post, but if anyone has any ideas, I would be interested in hearing them.
