Wonderful shampoo and conditioner. No use in hair loss that I can substantiate.

My brother uses it. I'm not sure if it grew back hair, or if it made his current hair extremely thick. But it def works. Expensive though.

Started Nioxin

I started my Nioxin regimen about 3 weeks ago. I was using Nizoral once every 3 days but I found the 2% nizoral to actually dry my scalp out. It made a noticeable difference in the thickness of my hair, but it actually made my scalp itchy and a tad flaky. However, I'm thoroughly impressed with the Nioxin treatment. Zero flakes...my hair appears lighter and thinner, but I'm only balding at the hairline. I already notice a huge difference in the amount of hair fallout. I have been using minoxidil. 5% for about a year now it has been slowing the loss, but it hasn't done much. I have tiny unpigmented hairs I'd love to fully grow back that I think came from the minoxidil. and they already look longer since I've been using Nioxin.

I can't say enough about their combo treatment. It just makes my hair feel incredible and my scalp actually hold the hair in when I run my fingers through it and pull. 1 to 2 hairs at most come out. If I go a day without it...3 to 4 each time...minimum two.

It is a very nice shampoo and conditioner. It won't do squat for your hair loss however.

Yes, it didn't realize I was hallucinating all this time. Must have been the LSD in my cereal.

If you think that there is a hairloss product out there that will work in three weeks, then by all means, it must be the LSD.

Well if you knew how to f*****g read you'd notice I said it made my hair feel softer and stopped my hair from flaking. It doesn't take 3 weeks for a product to do that. Anyway the unpigmented hairs were the result of the minoxidil. 5% which appeared in just under 2 months. There has been no change in their appearance since then, but the shampoo is making a difference in the overall health and look of my hair.

I personally think minoxidil. is f*****g sh*t, and I'm willing to bet I'll have better results with Nioxin...all I know is they won't be worse. =]

Oh and I have to get a haircut every month to month and a half because my hair grows abnormally fast...which is why the results might happen quickly. It grows even faster since I've been using nizoral. So when I shed...I shed probably much faster than most of the people out there. I could easily shake my hair with my fingers and count 70-90 hairs that fell out after about a min or two.

My are we testy! Estrogen levels must be high today or that time of the month? Breasts kind of sore?

Re: Nioxin, I actually use it from time to time and it is an excellent shampoo and conditioner. So yes, it can make your hair look good very quickly. It should, as it is one of the pricier products out there. Just don't confuse it with a hair loss product since it is not.

Re: minoxidil, I don't need to defend its efficacy. The data and our collective experience here is that it works and works well. It works and if you keep using Nioxin only, you will find out soon enough that you need to use minoxidil and propecia if you are serious about not being a cue ball (since you already seem to be a hair ball, this is a bad combination, but hey, it is your so called life).

Bite me!

Well minoxidil. isn't proven to work on every subject out there so yeah, it's not working for me at all. If I can find a place to get propecia cheap I'd like to try that as long as I didn't suffer any adverse effects.

Again the data is clear. Using finasteride with minoxidil and Nizoral will give you the greatest chance of retaining and regrowing hair. They are synergystic and that is why the pros here use the combo.

Ball is in your court. Choose wisely.

No you will not have better results with the shampoo. It does nothing to help with androgenetic alopecia.Period. If minoxidil does not help you then Propecia is the way to go next.

Little did I know they sold it on this site. I didn't bother to look because I assumed it was available strictly through presciption.

Nioxin smells good.

It make your head tingle and feels really nice.

Their hair gel is good for thickening.

Less hairs fall out on the days i use their shampoo/conditioner

It will not make my hair grow back.

It is expensive.

Back on topic.

If it's a proven DHT blocker, why wouldn't it be possible to grow hair back for some people?

Back on the Nioxin topic.

It is quite easy to trail off when people are suggesting other products.

ok if you've ever picked up a bottle you'd see some information on the back pertaining to DHT. Anyway here is a more elaborate description of its role against hair loss progressing.

NIOXIN cleansers will help. The NIOXIN cleansers work scientifically by removing the hydrophobic lipids (sebum), that contains the DHT from the scalp skin. The cleansers (Bio-Nutrient Cleanser#1, #1C and the FIT cleanser), detoxify and dissolve potentially years of chlorine, mineral and cosmetic build-up, to open up the nutrient pathways and improve the scalp environment. It takes approximately 30 days from first using the NIOXIN system to properly clear and improve the hair that is in the anagen, growth cycle.

I have both the cleanser and conditioner.(Read below)

NIOXIN's cleansers gently remove DHT - a major cause of hair loss - from the scalp skin together with all the build-up from conventional styling and conditioning products.

NIOXIN's Scalp Therapy restores energy and moisture levels to the scalp skin as it imparts conditioners on the hair.

Okay if it's proven, then where are the studies to prove it?This is gourmetstylewellness.com not hairsite.I do not doubt that it's good shampoo though.
