Just wanted to let you all know that using Nizoral 1%, alone, gave me dramatic results.
I was to the point where I couldn't even conceal my receding hairline by parting my hair in different ways so I figured I was doomed. I had never used any hair loss treatments, because I thought they were all an overpriced pain in the butt with little to no results.

I started using the Nizoral to control my dandruff. I used the shampoo about 2 - 3 times a week, didn't even leave it in, and after 4 or 5 months I noticed my hair had grown back significanty. Forget covering up my recede, I now barely had anything to conceal.

At this time, I had no idea how this was happening so, long story short, I decided to google "Nizoral" and came to realize that I had been using a hairloss shampoo for these past few months. I was wrong, these hairloss products do really work. Now I'm also using Minoxidal 2x a day(5%) and am seeing little hairs coming in the FRONT of my scalp; pretty cool.

Anyways I wanted to let you guys in on another success story; eventhough it was by accident. :stupid:

I used to see about 30-40 hairs fall out in the shower, but now I see less than 10. Pretty amazing. It used to stress me out seeing all of these pieces of hair all over the place, but now I'm seeing hardly any at all. :hump: When I first started the minoxidil I had a re-shed for a bit but that didn't last long.

The only problem I'm having now is with Dandruff. I guess it's coming from the minoxidil. I see big chunks and it's just everywhere in my hair. At first I thought it was little bits of dried pieces of the hair wax I use to style but, no, it's loads of dandruff.

Is there a way to get Nizoral 2% in the US w/o a prescription, perhaps through an internet site? Or would it be better to get the prescription?

You don't need a prescription, they sell it everywhere in canada for like $10 a bottle

I got the thick chucks of dandruff to finally go away. I went to the salon and had those ladies look at my hair and scalp. I bought a Tea Tree shampoo that they recommended and after a few days has seemed to do the trick. No more dandruff.

So I start with Tea Tree shampoo, rinse, then put on the nizoral for 5 min, rinse, and then add a conditioner. easy.

Also, they recommended a once a week conditioner, that you leave in for 10 min. They say that the minoxidil and nizoral will dry out your hair so that's why.

How come you dont' use Nizoral 2% instead?

I didn't even know the 2% existed. I got the one percent from my dad and had no idea it was a hair loss shampoo. I grabbed it to fix my dandruff problem.

I may try the 2% when I finish my next 1% bottle, but why try and fix it if it ain't broke.

Congrats, mate.
Nizoral 2% hasn't helped me at all for my hairloss. I have been using it for year and more, no change at all. It seems to make my hair a little bit thicker, though, so that is why I keep using it. And maybe it is just my imagination that it works against my hairloss that is the main reason I stick to it.
