Nizoral usage

Hi, guys!

I use Nizoral two times a week only as anti-DHT along with finasteride. Though it's written on the label that shampoo should not be rinsed for about 5 minutes, I can't wait that much cause it's building a dandruff for me ( initially I don't have dandruff ). The less I wait the better scalp condition I have. The best way is to rinse immediately after soaping. But will Nizoral work for me this way?...

Thanks

Even if you leave Nizoral on for 10 minutes twice a day it will probably not provide sufficient DHT inhibition to make any difference to your hair, it is only of some use when used along side a more potent DHT inhibitor like finasteride or spironolactone.

I love how Nizoral is so important for our regimens yet nobody can really explain any good reasons.. or the good reasons that can explained are always crap like "it helps inhibit dht but not enough to make a difference".

What's the point in using something if it doesn't make a difference?

Nizoral: Part of the big 3 for a good reason even if you have no irritation? Or just a bunch of bullshit?

Ketoconazole is proven to increase the hair shaft diameter, has possibly some antiandrogenic properties, reduces inflammation, kicks pitirosporum ovale's ***, smells good and ,above all, it is pink.

If you have a sensitive scalp or you overdo it, it may cause some dryness which is easily resolved by conditioning afterwards.

Sounds like a good deal to me.

Umm, semantics of "DHT inhibitor" aside:

Piérard-Franchimont, C., P. D. Doncker, et al. (1998). "Ketoconazole Shampoo: Effect of Long-Term Use in Androgenic Alopecia." Dermatology 196(4): 474-7.

They say that pink is the new black.

In the UK:
Blue = Nizorelle 1% Strength
Pink = Nizoral 2% Strength
