no more nizoral?

Over the last week and a half I've gone to 6 CVS's and 5 Duane Reade's and there is no Nizoral in stock at any of them. These are stores at which I've previously found Nizoral. Is there an alternative that I can purchase at these stores? What other stores might carry Nizoral? Or has it just gone out of business or something?

Thanks for any advice

Lots available here in Canada!!! Costco has a 2 pack of 120ml bottles for $19.00 Canadian. Was thinking about selling them on ebay if anyone is interested?

This scares me! I live in Canada and when I bought Nizoral a few days ago, I took the last one on the shelf, in a rather damaged box. I thought nothing of it at the time, just that they sold out their inventory faster than usual--but maybe it's because they're not replacing the one's being sold...

If it's gone for good, I'm gonna go back to using T-Gel. It doesn't have keto in it, but my hair was always extra thick on days I used it.

Okay so I thought I just didn't know how to search or was just going crazy but it looks like i'm not alone.

I saw 4 different sellers on Amazon, one had it for $40 for 7 oz[2 available], the other one had it for $50 something for a 2 pack of 4 oz. Cheapest is $24 for 4oz[3 available].

If I remember correctly a 4oz should cost about $15?

Walgreens sells 4 0z for $15 but it says they are out of stock.

Ebay international sellers have the best prices for 2% nizoral.

I had also gone to two Wal-Mart's, CVS, Walgreens, etc...they all still had price tags on the shelves for Nizoral, just no bottles. I called the customer service line given on Nizoral's website this morning and they were apologetic stating that they were having production problems and that it has not been discontinued.

Confirmed - no safety issues / recalls; simply production affecting distribution. Those with current stock of Nizoral are not affected.

Yes, my bottle of nizoral 1% is almost gone. This was the first bottle I ever used, and it has obviously helped me with itching. I bought my bottle from Wal-Mart, and it was the last bottle on the shelf at the time. I expected them to restock, but it has never been there. Since then I cannot find it anywhere else in town. This includes Wal-Mart, Target, Rite-Aid, CSV Drugstore, and Safeway. Nobody carries it. I will probably resort to finding it online.

I had two bottles left, I just sold one on ebay for almost 50 bucks. The second one is on sale. I figured if its discontinued, those last bottles weren't gonna be much help. I think the best thing about nizoral is the smell and how it makes your scalp feel. I haven't been using it for about a month and honestly I don't think it made much of a difference, I don't know if I'll start using it again even if it comes back.

i had my hair loss just about under control with a combo of nizoral, finpecia, and minoxidil. but since nizoral has disappeared, my hairloss has accelerated in a really crappy way and now i seem to be back where i started. i didn't know that nizoral was making such a big difference for me.

are there are alternatives? i've heard something about neutrogena t-gel..

Revita could be a good one, i don't know i've never tried it. It's about 30$ for 6oz though, i think that's pretty close to the UK prices we'd get,

You could always try a cream with Ketocanazole

As a stop gap it could be worth a try

Hi all, as someone who was just about to start using Nizoral, I noticed the disappearance this past week when I went to go buy a bottle, having checked multiple CVSs and Walgreens. It also looks like Amazon isn't stocking it anymore.

I checked Google News, and it looks like in January, French authorities banned the sale of the product there, at least temporarily. Apparently, it increased the risk of hepatitis, although only a few cases had been reported... the EU health authorities in the end have the final say, apparently. But for now, it looks like to has led to a stop of sales in the U.S. I'm not surprised Nizoral doesn't have anything on its website - the company probably has no staff left to do things like update the website.

N.B.: this is from putting a French article through Google translate, so some stuff might be slightly off

Poor forel nobody seems to believe him

Taken from a review amazon

http://www.amazon.com/Nizoral-A-D-Shamp ... B0000Y3CRY

I've called Johnson and Johnson's at 1 (800) 962-5357 to inquire about the nationwide shortage of Nizoral A-D shampoo. Johnson and Johnson's informed me that shortage is only temporary. They had recently relocated their manufacturing plant for Nizoral A-D, and they are waiting for FDA re-approval of the product from the new facility. The supply should be back in July or a bit later this year.

So I'm guessing in the US the FDA has to approve manufacturing facilities as well

I'm wondering if one of these plants was the problem, or whether or not it was just a general restructure, I can't locate the actual plant myself, but if one of you has a bottle of the stuff .... you may be able to do some confirmation
