When I'm in the shower, everytime I touch my head I lose 5-10 hairs. At this rate, would it be possible to become a Norwood 7 if I were to shampoo my head non-stop for a couple of days? Why delay the inevitable??

no i dont think its possible eventhough it seems it is..there are hairs that are growing in place of the ones you lost at all times which is why u dont wake up one day after shedding to find huge baldspots all over ur head
dont worry man, i shampoo that amount too.
I've a non male pattern baldness bro that looses about 45 hairs/shower, yes i stare at his drain hair if i come across it
did some math:
average full head has 100,000 hairs /365days /3years anagen = 91 hairs lost a day
a guy that just notices his male pattern baldness has 50,000 hairs /365 /3 = 46 hairs lost a day
this is just an average, you loose less some days and more other days due to treatment sheds/seasonal sheds/etc
not exactly, male pattern baldness is in fact a telogen effluvium of sorts in that much more hair is in the telogen phase. fact is , you will lose a lot more hair if you are going bald than if you arent because you have to adjust your telogen ratio.
yah, average guys have 10% in tellogen, compared to male pattern baldness guys who have 25%. I'm sure it is worse for the higher norwoods. I get that number from reading studies that test drug's abilities to change the ratio, and the control group always is around 25%.
thanks for the pointout, so the more realistic math:
10% telogen = 90,000/1095 = 82 hairs
25% telogen = 75,000/1095 = 68 hairs
assuming no dead folicles, 25% telogen would represent a non-diffused norwood 3?
the figures look alot higher than what we estimate on bad hair days, so htownballa... looks like it's better to not count what falls but what stays up there. gd luck counting that
if you get 200 lost a day for months that's another case however, would that indicate progressing up the norwood scale/some Telogen Effluvium?....I'd just stick to mirror density checking and stop worrying too much.
