Hi all, hoping someone can help me out (I'll try and keep it short).

Just a little bit of background for anyone interested. Im 26 and have been loosing my hair since around 17 / 18 (Although can also remember some teasing as far back as 16 where my crown was thinning). It got to the stage it is at now when I was around 21 / 22 (Went though a difficult time and I believe stress quickened the process) From around ages 19 - 22 used Minoxidil, helped a little but gave up. I took Finasteride for around a week but couldn't cope with side effects. (I know they might have been temporary but not worth it for me)

From age 23 until now (26) I have not used anything to help and have come to terms with my hair loss and am okay with it as I just cut it short. I never notice any new fallen hairs after a bath / shower so I believe the processes has stopped. I eat healthily and exercise and have never had any medical problems.

I'm at a point in my life where I can now consider a hair transplant and have been intensely looking into it however I'm just concerned with my donor area. I have seen (some) similar Norwood 6 / 7 and their results look great. I would also rather pay more money.

1. I think I am between Norwood 6 / 7 but would be great if I could get your opinion?

2. If I was to get a transplant how does my donor area look?

Lastly if you need any more pics let me know and I'll take some more.

Thanks for any help.

I think you should ask some good hair transplant surgeons/clinics with reputaion about their opinion. They will tell you realisticly about your options.

I'll be brutally honest with you. A hair transplant would not be a good idea. Your hair loss is too aggressive and your donor area is weak. You'd need at least two hair transplants to cover front to back and even at that I'd imagine the density would be very poor.

Transplants + SMP + concealer might do the trick. But you will need alot of grafts and I don't know whether you have enough.

Thank you. I just wanted to see what other people thought. I will go and see a specialist at some point anyway but I don't want them to just agree because they want the business.

Thanks for being honest. Someone told me before the donor area looks weak! Yeah that's what I'm thinking now, it might just look worse.

Thanks. Never heard of SMP, just had a quick google, looks interesting and something I will have a read into some more!
