Not proven on the front?

Hi guys, I'm having a hard time getting my head around this. I recently bought Rogaine to finally complete the big 3, and in an attempt to thicken up the front(where im thinning most). If I could just maintain what I have that would be cool with me, tho my temples have receided very noticably. However, I was surprised to read on the rogaine box that it is not intended for use on the front, but only the vertex. Is this really the case? If it is should I not bother using minoxidil/rogaine? I've read stories of people losing more hair after using then stopping minoxidil and dont want to be there especially if there's a chance that propecia can maintain what I have in the front. Any advice would be great, thanks.

this has been asked a million times, do a quick search.

basically their product doesn't work too well for the temples, so maybe that's why they say they didn't test that area.

some have also posted about minoxidil destroying their hair and the counter-posts to this have been

- you would have lost it anyway
- you're going through a shed, ride it out.

there are limited success stories for temple regrowth, so just give it a shot and see what happens, who knows.

Foam is well worth applying to the hairline. You just have to be patient :)

Takes a year to work.

Don't expect anything more than maintaince however. Anything more than this bonus. But I can say with a good amount of certainty if you apply foam to your current hairline there is good chance it not change or recead any further for a least a couple of years, as is my case. Ive never missed an applications of twice daily Foam applications to my hairline and my hairline is slightly better than it was 1.5 years years ago. The fact it hasnt got any worse is gold to me. Its not a miracle drug for the hairline but it works to maintain/slightly improve it until something better comes along. Your choice.

I've not seen any new growth on the front. Lots on the vertex.

Thanks for the response. Sorry to make another thread about hairline thinning but I was surprised that it was actually claimed by the company =[
The only rogaine my local pharmacy had was 5% with the eyedropper method. I read in the pamphlet that people should stop using rogaine if they haven't experienced any results in 4 months. Do most people stop at this time?

Also do you guys think 5% is too much for someone who just wants to maintain or thicken up only a bit?

Major study was done I think in 2005. 20% had moderate regrowth. 30% had slight regrowth. 50% stayed the same or got worse.
