Noticed a nice side effect from finasteride

Hey everyone,

I noticed a beneficial side from the finasteride. I used to get acne on my back. This has been going on for years. Very annoying. Since starting finasteride 4 months ago I have noticed a major improvement in my skin. Back acne is almost all gone. Maybe just a coincidence but who knows. Still no improvement in my hair, but I'm patient.

i used to have acne on my back but once it turned 19 it went away.......im just waitin for someone to post on how he got on finasteride,now his slong is a feet long...hey that ryhmed.

I've had the opposite side-effect has you. My face has been much more prone to occasional very small breakouts. It's not terrible and i can live with it but I think its due to hormonal change that proscar has had on me.

Recently, I notice that my semen is watery. Is that a sign that propecia is starting to take effect?

Based on everything I've learned I would say yes.

Your DHT production is beginning to be reduced.

I don't know if the finasteride caused the improvement in my skin or if it is just coincidence, I may never know. However, it has cleared up dramatically over the past few months, and I couldn't be more pleased. :lol:

The same happened to me:
in the first few months on proscar, my back acne went away and
my body hair thinned out.

Unfortunately, both have come back with a vengeance (more body hair than before starting finasteride!) at about the 6 month mark. I think this is due to androgen receptor upregulation, meaning you are getting more sensitive to the remaining androgens...

Which brings me to my next point - virtually everything side-effect related here is speculation.
