Nw2 At 20 With Diffuse Thinning, No Finasteride Yet

First I want to say that I've pretty much accepted hair loss is a part of my life and is going to be for a while, so the prospect doesn't really bother me anymore. It's been getting increasingly thinner over the past two years and has receded to probably a Norwood 1.5-2 or so. There aren't any bald men in my family though, which is strange. I've thought about getting on Finasteride but have chosen against it because it sounds like it would really screw with my hormones, mood, etc. when on the other hand I can just accept it and go with it.
However I shaved my head again recently and have been finding these random wiry thick black hairs mixed in with lighter miniaturized hairs. I think this is just the strangest thing. What could that be- is that an abnormality?

NW1.5 at the most IMO. Are the wiry thick hairs growing on the sides above your beard? My hair texture is like that there.

didnt even bother to read the text,only saw the pics...norwood 1,5 very max...great semi-mature hairline(at least from those pics)...no diffuse thining!!!(at least again from those pics)

I'd look out for your overall density more than recession tbh, still got a great head of hair at this point though.

People say the black wiry hairs that you describe are a result of DHT overload, I don't really know but in past topics people say that, I have black hair but also get the occasional wiry strand, kinda like pubic hair.

If you don't want to start finasteride, maybe try some natural alternatives to regulate hormones better? One thing I take in the morning is Ashwangandha and apparently that has some good effects on regulating hormones as well as improving mood, energy etc.

Is it normal for a DHT increase during the maturing process to lead to extensive thinning? I've seen my friends hair and he has a very similar hairline and has lost quite a bit of density (he's a year younger than me) but does not at all seem concerned. Just curious.

Don't know where you are but you can get it pretty much anywhere, I've been taking it for 3 months, to be honest not seeing a lot of effect on my hair but it has done wonders for other things like my mood.

No, they are all over my scalp. I've recently completely shaven my head and have continued to find them.
