I have a theory that it is psychological...because you are darker hair/eyes that you are drawn to lighter hair/eyes because you have felt ostracized where you are.
I have noticed a few men on forum who are dark seem to be drawn to really white blondes over brunettes.
I like brunette women too like Penelope Cruze, selma Hayak and I like blondish men like Jamie from GOT, Viggo Mortensen.
But reality to me is face trumps hair color.

I like blondes, brunettes, black or red hair equally as much. What matters are the facial features, skin, hair quality and body proportions. I am attracted to contrasts though, like blue/green eyes + dark hair, blonde hair + dark eyes etc. But what matters the most is the overall look, not the coloring.

Lighter skin just seems more feminine to me.
