Impact is all about trying to come to a consensus on why baldness matters and how it affects our lives. It's not a support forum in the sense that we talk up the condition and give each other compliments for our chrome domes. There are other forums which do that, like Sly Bald Guys, and you are welcome to join those if that's what you seek.

While this forum has a negative overtone, the honest discussion here is cathartic and in my impression quite therapeutic for the members. In many cases, members end up moderating their viewpoints, going from thinking baldness the end of the world, to seeing it for what it is: an unfortunate condition that doesn't end your life, but cuts your youth short, limits the quality and quantity of social goods (sex, friendships, jobs) you can procure, and unnecessarily constricts the paths your life can take.

I think most of us are of the type that can't deny what's going on around us. Suppressing arguments in the name of "supporting each other" will do more harm than good.
Great post!

Best post in this page, 100% accurate, I couldn't agree more.

I especially agree on "Fred's looksmaxing" part, and I've always though the same. All he needed was a hair transplant and he was back to be a slayer again. Good-looking people don't "looksmax", don't even need it.
Fred went through a lot of mental torture before he could even think about "slaying" again (though, the jury is still out on whether he actually slayed.. or paid those sleeping women to appear in those photos and make it look like he was actually pleasuring them... I'm still undecided.)

Anyway, point being... Fred is a human being and has suffered just as much as you have suffered. All of it being appearance related.

Give it some thought.

Guarantee if that guy was "transformed" lookwise and didn't have his personality hiccups, he would look like a normal guy and you wouldn't call him a loser. He would be dating similar girls. Put any average guy there, bald with beads and weird clothes on, you would probably call him an incel loser too.

It goes both ways to be honest. Some on here want to give irrational hope to ugly guys as a way of coping themselves - I can do it if he can sort of thing. Others want to belittle ugly guys so they feel they are better looking and get some comfort on the forum. I don't belong in either camp. I stand by what I said. The guy could have avoided ridicule and led a normal life.
With respect, Wolfpack, you keep using the word "normal" as if this guy was somehow deviant. He just had his own ideas and personality.
Something I can respect and don't see as a negative at all.
In fact, its a positive!

The clothes he wore did looked a bit dated, I concede. As if he has been transported forward in time straight from the set of "Easyrider".

Accept reality as it is. No baldness isn't gross and repulsive, but it's not desirable either.

A hell of a lot of people genuinely do find it gross and repulsive though.

Their disgust sensitivity is malajusted then, it's their problem, not the problem of the vast majority of people out there.

"A lot"? Some people I'd say, and they're rare.

Depends on the demographic. Pretty much anyone over the age of 40 would barely blink an eye. Larger % in 18-30s, especially girls I'd say.

Well, I agree with @Dench57 here.
A lot of people really despise hair loss. Only a few admit it.

I am dating a man now and I'm am TOTALLY hot for him and he is bald/balding...but he looks good in spite of it.
he has that kind of face that carries it well and we are both in our 40s so meh.
I dont know what norwood you classify him but the top is receded and like 'bald' just some hairs. (kind of like Jude law's but without that 'island' in middle)
He keeps it really well groomed though, and like I said he gets away with it due to face/age/fitness.
