NYC Hairloss Specialized Dermatologist

Hi, I really want someone who specializes in hair or hairloss treatment to check my situation out, mostly because I have such a strange pattern. Are there any dermatologists in the Manhattan area that would be worth a call? I've seen two dermatologists back home (I go to college in NYC but live in Texas), but neither knew too much about hair or hairloss specifically.

Also, if you have any recommendations, how busy are they?

My other concern is hair styling. I have pretty curly hair and have had to use hair mouse/gels/etc. every single day since around 13 when it became curly. Without hair styling aids, my hair is very very frizzy. Are there any recommendations for styling aids for curly hair? My hair is thinning drastically in the front if that helps.

Thanks, which of them would probably be cheapest to see just to get an idea as to what dosage I should be taking of finasteride etc.? Also, if any are covered by bluecross blue shield, let me know.

Ok thanks, I was under the impression that they were general dermatologists who happened to have male pattern baldness as their strongpoint, in which case my insurance would cover it. I kind of wanted to check out the thing on my arm though. One dermatologist told me it was a simple infection, another told me it was late signs of eczema (hopefully not). Would be interesting hearing an opinion from a hairloss doctor on the thought since the area has lost hair and appeared around the same time my hair seriously started thinning.
