Official No Sides from finasteride Thread

All right folks. I think it's time all of you have had nothing but good times on finasteride step up and make yourselves known. I think there's a lot of us out there and it would be good to ease some of the worry in regard to finasteride.

I DO NOT mean for this to be a fight between pro-finasteride and anti-finasteride people. I just want to ease some of the worries in regard to finasteride rather than dwelling on those cases who experience negatives sides since I think they are more rare than people think. I also believe that finasteride is absolutely one of the best treatments in combating male pattern baldness and should be considered by most male pattern baldness sufferers.

For me, I'm 23 and I've been on 1mg of propecia for about nine months. I had some sexual sides on and off for the first few months, but then everything went back to normal, and for the past couple months I've had an increase in ejaculate (much more than my pre-finasteride... uh... output) and my libido is ridiculously high. Perhaps higher than it was before finasteride, although it was always pretty damn good to begin with. Along with that, my mild acne is gone, skin is smooth, and of course the big one... my hair is growing back.

im 26. i've been on finasteride for 3 or 4 months. i got sides starting week 2, watery semen and i couldn't get it up all the way. semen was back to normal in 3 days, everything else was back in 2 weeks. now, i produce way more semen, stronger erections, and have a higher sex drive. the only negative side has been a very mild increase in acne.

oh and i started regrowing hair, on my temples, within the first 3 weeks.

Hi! This is Flavio from Madeira Island, Portugal. I'm 32 and I've been on finasteride (Proscar 1/4) for 12 (twelve) years. Finasteride has maintained my hair and improved the appearance of my scalp (it's less greasy now). There were no side effects, this is probably the safest drug I've ever taken.

this is a good thread, I have been on finasteride for about 3 weeks (low dose 0.20mg) and have noticed i am getting some watery seaman and slightly lower sex drive, but thanks to the help on this forum i found a lot of people got this and a lot of people found that all was back to normal after a short while. So I am happy to stick it out thanks to the advise and reasurence on here and its not really any thing to worry about at the mo, but i might have panic if i never had the backing on this site

I was also on finasteride and I saw the usual initial sides of watery semen, softer erection and lower sex drive within the first few months. Again, these passed and my sides seemingly dissapeared. I had no problems with the drug after this.

Just to point out, I eventually stopped finasteride as I couldn't find any information on potential damage to sperm in the long run (I'd like children in the near future). So this was a personal choice to stop, not a forced stop from sides.

yeah. i couldn't believe it, but i noticed a little peach fuzz on my temples that wasn't there before. at first i figured i just hadn't seen it, but it grew darker and longer, and at this point is blending into my hairline.

of course, the places where i actually do have hair got a little thinner, thanks to the shedding. but my hairline keeps moving up, so hopefully the thickness will follow shortly.

I've been on finasteride for about 6 months, aside for watery semen (this hasn't got any better, but it doesn't really effect me) I don't even know I am on it. I pop the pill in the morning and that's all I know about it till the next day when I take it again.
I laugh when I read crap about people saying they have penile shrinkage and brain fogging, they must get themselves so caught up obsession with the pill effects that their mind starts playing tricks on them. I don't doubt a small minority get some side effects, by to attribute your penis shrinking to 1mg of a drug proven to be safe is ludicrous.

Anyways it is a good idea for a thread, hopefully it helps a few people is they have doubts. I can't say I've seen results yet (I am aiming at strengthening my temples, so it is a difficult task) but I haven't seen anything to discourage me from using it!

Just a question for guys who have been using it for a while, when did your shedding slow down? I been shedding consistently the whole time (only at the same pace I was before taking finasteride, so it isn't to be blamed), if I wear a beanie by the time I take it off I have a lot of hairs in it for example. Hoping it slows down soon...

Been on finasteride for 14 months. Had side effects first 2 months but they cleared up by month 3 (except for the watery semen). Finasteride has maintained and slightly improved my hair.

7 years on finasteride, had some minor side effects for 3-4 weeks, nut ache, watery seaman etc, had a spell last year where I struggled with staying hard, but it passed and no problems since.

Been on finasteride for 5 years. Heard about it here long ago and have never looked back. unk: No sides, started to thin a bit up front but overall very happy.
