okay my itching occurs in my norwood area

it feel like if somethings attacking the follicule deep inside, other times it feels like pin prick, but mostly its just an annoying itch (perhaps 20 times an hour- drives me crazzzzy!) and generally speakin my scalp feels sore if i tug on some hair.

okay, have been on dutasteride for over a year the scalp soreness improved dramatically, hair improved somewhat and itching subsided a little bit.
HOWEVER, i had been using nizoral for the first few months and the still the itching persisted, i then left it when it ran out and the itching was about the same. i shampoo my hair and then i leave a conditioner on for about 10 mins. BIG MISTAKE

now, i tried using head and shoulders, left that on for 10 mins and my head feels almost normal ( i itch like once every 4 hours or somethin on average ) this is almost like a miracle!

try it, you guys, who have this annoyin itch. id never thought it was caused by dandruff, it just felt much deeper, like an immue-response killling each follicle off one by one. and also the fact it was only in the norwood region of my scalp sort of reaffirmed that misconception - i thought if i had dandrufff it would affect my entire scalp.

i dun use anythin else apart from dutasteride, so this has gotta be it, seeing as there wasnt any other dramatic changes in my diet or anythin

did you try leaving nizoral on your head for atleast 5+ minutes? don't worry about leaving the conditioner on your head for that long, that will not help.

It is best to use nizoral and t/gel in your weekly rotation as they tend to attack scalp itchyness/irritation from different angles.

Oh, if you are still unconvinced with this approach, then buy folligen and apply daily. Its cheap, lasts forever, and I will personally bet you that this combination will get rid of these conditions and get your scalp into good shape.

one thing that i have done which has drastically reduced my itch is to not wash my hair so much. i know what your thinking, and i'm not a greasy hippie. what i do is wash my hair twice a week with t-gel. on the days in between, i wash my hair with conditioner. the conditioner has enough stuff in it to get out the grease, while leaving my hair soft and moisturized.

i realize now that most of my itch was probably from dry scalp caused by overwashing. hope this helps.

I agree.

Compared to Nizoral, I believe that Head & Shoulders make my scalp feel 3 times better.

It's definitely a good shampoo to rotate in with a Nizoral and moisturizing regimen.
