As the title suggests i am using the big 3 but still notice my hairline going back at the sides and some thinning on top.

Any advice or things i should be doing different? I feel that no matter how dedicated i am to the programme im fighting a losing battle,

I slip up most weeks on the minoxidil application, i do it every night but miss some mornings as i hate my hair looking greasy after it in work and stuff, my worst weeks are normally 7 out of 14 weeks for applying minoxidil.

I take finasteride every day, although about a month ago i didn't order it in time and didnt have it for a 2 week holiday,

I use nizoral 2-3 times a week.

Thanks Drop dead fred, i feel finasteride has worked in stopping my hair loss further back my head, but the areas already affected i feel are gradually getting worse, my hairline is now quite noticeably gone back, i am looking into surgical options but obviously this is quite a serious step,

i wonder should i add something to my regime, i see some guys on here on an array of products, could anyone advise on a useful addition??

I don't think the Retinoic Acid 0.01 is tretinoin which is what Retin A is made of. Second I would switch to the foam which has polysorbate in it whch helps with DHT

No you SHOULD use nizoral just not every day as its quite harsh. Every 3 days is fine

If you are losing hair after multiple years still swap out the finasteride for the dutasteride you might stop losing ground

You might be one of the few on the tails of the bell curve like me. In simple words you might be one of the few people whose male pattern baldness is so aggressive that even finasteride, Min and nizoral just cannot help. Start on Dutasteride if you feel the need. I personally have failed with dutasteride, finasteride and Min

Yeah Minoxidil is hell to put on every day. I attempted it way back when I first started treating my hairloss but quit before I even hit 3 months. There was just no way I could keep slopping that awful stuff on my head twice a day.

finasteride on the other hand has been fantastic for me, it thickened my hair up quite a bit around the 2-3 year mark and has been slowly going back toward baseline now at the 10 year mark. I'm still around where I started now at 31 as when I was 21 so that's positive. I've since added dutasteride but trying to source a quality alternative to Avodart has been difficult. I'm fairly confident that Dutasteride should effectively stop the progression of hairloss if you are a responder to antiandrogens. I would slowly add Avodart in along with your finasteride maybe once or twice a week and evaluate after 6 months.

Best of luck.

If all the legit stuff fails RU is strong and competing with both T and DHT is a different angle than finasteride/dutasteride. Its just risky for different reasons but should do something.
