Now let me start off by saying, I know that you won't always inherit your fathers hair genes, it could be from almost anyone in your family.

But one thing I've noticed with my friends is that a huge amount of them have fathers with very thin hair or bald, yet none of my friends show any sign of hair loss and we are approaching 30. Infact, a huge number of them have the most perfect hairline I've ever seen. Have my friends miraculously dodged the bad hair genes.........all of them? I know it's quite a useless post, but it really got me wondering lol :)

my father is nw2 with great hair in his 50s meanwhile im already nw3 at 24 with thinning all across the scalp, reason i was so surprised and didnt believe i was balding till i already hit nw3... You would think having a fullhead father would mean inheriting good hair genes but nah... My younger brother is balding also.

Here’s a weird one, I’m 26 and have been thinning and receding slowly since college.

My father and his brother are both in their 50s with really solid heads of hair, no thinning at all, but my maternal grandfather and all of his brothers are bald AF. My mother has three sisters who all have sons in their 20 - 30s who are experiencing male pattern baldness which would lead me to believe the whole “it comes from your mother’s father thing”, BUT there is one cousin out of all of us who isn’t thinning at all and has great hair and a juvenile hairline, even weirder is that his dad is slick bald, so both his dad and maternal grandfather are cue balls and he’s still going throng with no signs of balding whatsoever. Just shows that we really don’t know sh*t about male pattern baldness.

How old is that cousin?
