Hi Everyone...

Have not been on for a long while. When I looked at my profile I was suprised I have been on propecia for over a year. Started in July 2003.

At the moment I don`t think I have made much progress. when I started I was losing hair on the back of my head and receding a bit on the temple.

As propecia is supposed to be most successfull on the back of the head I was quite hopefull.

If I am being optimistic I could say Propecia might have stoped me losing more hair - the problem is I don`t know what I would look like now if I did not start propecia so really I can only speculate.

I certainly don`t think I have grown any new hair. I have not had any side effects at all so my conclusion at the moment is its not working for me.

Its quite exspensive for me to get in the UK but I am not sure if I will continue as on the propecia site it says a year should be enough to tell if its working or not.

I might give another year and maybe add rogaine into my routine...I still have 2 months of propecia so I will think about it through these two months

If your hair loss has stop than propecia is working. Once you get off of it you will see a shedding process. If I was you, stay on it. A lot of people stop using propecia because they don't get any hair growth but they hair loss stop. Propecia works best on maintaining your hair not growing it. If you go on propecia they say that most people maintain the hair there have only a slight of the people get regrowth and even a smaller percents see a big hair growth.

for regrowth go with minoxidil but by all means stick with the finasteride because no increase in recession is a win in my book. The minoxidil is more of a growth stimulator so it may be what your looking for

They are correct in saying that finasteride is not a growth stimulant and needs to be used along with min for regrowth . Works wonders for some folks . I'm certain you will regret stopping finasteride .
