Hey guys,

The only person i can relate my hair loss to in the family in my uncle who had a very full head of hair but a receding widows peak (no crown thinning or anything). I used to get told when i was a teenager that my crown was a 'bald spot' or a ''double crown' so i have never really looked at my crown until now. The first picture if of my crown around a year ago and the rest are from today. I will be starting finasteride in a week or so so i would like to make sure im monitoring the correct things.

Cheers guys!

it doesnt look bad at all . If you have some thinning it is pretty minimal . keep us updated with your result with propecia .

I appreciate the reply mate, i think its the darkness of my hair as well as the length that made it stand out to me recently when i was taking pictures so i got worried!

can you show hairline pics ?

Sure, here are a few i have just taken (bad quality but you get the idea). My uncle had pretty much the same hairline at age 40 which sucks for me considering i can conceal it fairly easily with a longer style.

Where would you say i am mate? i have had one since i can remember (along with my 3 sisters) which is why im only really noticing hairloss now as styling my hair has become a lot more difficult. I really do hope that i respond to it well so i can stop worrying so much and pray for a 'cure' within the next 10 years. Would you have any idea of the amount of grafts i would need to fill in the temples? Again i appreciate the kind words and ill be sure to keep updating :)

Propecia is most likely going to be great for you bro! I can see some miniaturized hairs in your temples that will shed and grow back stronger with the drug. I'm around your age and it has done wonders. My hair has grown thicker and maintained fullness after being on it almost 3 years so far. Be patient with it and give it a year or even two before you consider a hair transplant.

Thanks mate, funnily enough the miniaturized hairs are what made me finally realize i was balding as having the widows peak was always normal for me. Thats great to hear and im glad its working for you man! what dosage are you taking?

1mg per day which is what is recommended. It works well for around 90% of guys so it will probably work for you too. At the very least it should stop the progression.

And yeah that's what I noticed too, miniaturization around the hairline, specifically the temples, but now they have all thickened up and continue to do so with every hair cycle. Also, your crown looks like a cowlick to me.

If you pay attention to your hair then no one knows whether your losing or not better then yourself. Trust your own gut because if your losing hair then you will know it. From the pictures I agree its minor, but whether you have male pattern baldness or not you probably know best.
Dont over think it. Just take it everyday like a vitamin, and forget about it for now. its a very long term thing like years so you cant worry each day about this or that.
