Newly started regimen. I am 25 and about an nw2-2.5. Having some clear temple recession and maybe a little bit on the crown. Also feel like I have some mild overall thinning/lost density. Goals are to maintain what I have and set myself up for a Hair Transplant in 2-3 years or so.
Started 2/1
• Kirkland 5% Minoxidil Foam 2x per day
• Finasteride 1mg per day started 2/15
• Nizoral OTC 1% Shampoo 3x per week
•Pura d'or Anti Hair Loss Gold Label Shampoo
•Pura d'or Healing Conditioner
•Saw Palmetto 500mg
•NeoCell 6000mg Super Collagen +C (Type 1 and 3)
•Biotin 10,000mcg
•Zinc 50mg
•Iron 65mg
•500mg Arginine, Lysine, Taurine, and Methionine. 250mg Aceytl L-Carnitine
I am thinking about adding some more things and would love some opinions on what to do.
1). S5 cream seems to be something a lot of people do. I also hear oral spironolactone isn't a smart thing to do but there is that other recent thread where the person has had amazing results from it. It's very tempting but what are the sides like? I am on finasteride so I am clearly not scared of being in the 5% minority of people who get sides, but what is that range for oral spironolactone?
2) I have longish hair and I've heard that Minoxidil liquid reaches the scalp better because it is heavier. I am thinking about adding Lipogaine since I like the azelaic acid and retinol it has in it as well as the same 5% minoxidil I am already using. I'd probably use the Kirkland foam in the morning, and Lipogaine at night. Would it be stupid to combine two different minoxidil supplements or does it not matter?
3) RU58841 AND OC000459. I know RU also works on the DHT front but OC works on the PDG2 front.
What does RU do that finasteride doesn't?
And OC, that's legitmtaely the only thing I know about it, that it works on PDG2 inhibition.
anyone have any more info or advice about these things?
4) Hairmax Laser Comb. I don't think it can hurt to add this to my regimen. All it does is increase blood flow/circulation to the hair follicles which can't be a bad thing. Also it is very simple to use for 10-15 mins 3 times per week.
5) Acell +prp injections. All I've heard that it is a good idea to do to set yourself up for a future hair transplant. No real proof if it does anything for DHT or long term hair loss prevention, but they say its a good alternative for someone who can't be on finasteride. So why not do both? They wouldn't cancel each other out.
The growth factors and overall health of follicles from the treatment is what has me interested in it. For some reason, the idea of actually going to a reputable doctor and getting a real procedure done has me intrigued instead of only doing stuff on my own. Hence why I truly just want to get a hair transplant.
I appreciate any recommendations and advice or any corrections if I was wrong about anything I just said! Thanks
