That's pretty funny because everyone noticed before me LOL. People will point it out all the time, I would ask my mother and she would say it's fine. I believed my mother instead of the entire world. If people don't notice (Or rather, are not saying anything because they think it's rude and none of their business to point that out), then maybe it's because it's not so bad yet.

I mean let's face it, if you know a fat chick, would you tell her she's fat? That would be rude, and it's none of your business. Unless she is a close, dear friend who you care about and you are concerned about her obesity and want to offer genuine help. People rather keep their mouths closed.

Totally agreed

That's right. But then people have begun noticing my hairloss, so I guess just 'enjoy life' tactic won't work for me. :-/

NW1. Great hair
NW2. Great hair
NW3. Big forehead, nobody thinks you're bald, but people will notice either consciously or sub consciously.
NW4. Balding
NW5 -7. Proper bald.

If you're diffuse thinning as well as receding, then baldness registers at lower Norwood levels
If you have a naturally high hairline/big forehead to start with, people will consider you balding at lower Norwood levels.

I completely agree. My problem is that I've always had a fivehead. Then recession to Norwood 1.5 and THEN THINNING including one of the temple points. The result does register to people as balding because I get comments if I don't do a combover. finasteride has reversed the thinning about 5%-10% though, but it still looks bad.

Even in this forum, people don't always notice other people's hair loss. And I would agree that most people with at least a thick NW2 or less will be considered to have great hair. And if you make it your 40's or 50's with a thick NW2 or less, then you are considered very lucky. However, if you stay a thick NW1 your whole entire life with minimal grey hair (up to 100 years old) you hit the genetic lottery for hair.

I don't think people will outright notice you're balding when you start losing.

They'll just think you're much older than you really are. Aka big forehead. That in itself is heartbreaking to hear. "You look like you're 30"

Interesting topic.

I think for most men, nobody would notice much until it starts happening to you. Then you become more concious of the fact from that point on.

Most people including ourselves notice hair loss when it's far to late, and apparent.

Just because you can't see it doesn't mean on going androgen activity isn't taking place within the scalp. it inevitably is, and is always in your best interests to stay in finasteride once you notice.

I like many others made the mistake of thinking because our loss came to a halt that we are in the safe zone and can seize medication. Albeit in actuality it is very slow, and progressive.

Once you have been diagnosed, the key is never coming off as long as your body permits. It never stops.
