Remember years ago that tv commercial that showed a man having his crown filled in with hair by an aerosol spray can? Did anyone actually fall for that?

Anyone else know of any other outrageous hair gimmicks people fell for?

The biggest gimmick I fell for was the HairMax Laser Comb.

I used the hairmax, NuHair multivitamins for hair, ... spectral dnc (not sure if it was a scam but the crap made my scalp yellow), applepoly, protandim.

right now I'm using just the big 3 and spironolactone.

I fell for the laser comb. They are getting better at deceptive marketing, they said it helps with irritated scalp conditions, like alleviating the itch. I got scammed because of all of the media coverage about 'fda' approval.

That comb seems like a pretty big scam if you ask me. Its like taking the mouse from your computer and rubbing it all over your head.

I haven't tried applepoly but that looks like a major scam as well. I don't doubt that there is science behind some of the theory that apple extract may help male pattern baldness, but that company is probably selling dyed sugar water for all we know. Thats the problem, they are starting to take real science now and then they use it to market a scam.

I have heard some really bad things about Shen Min, Avacor, and ScalpMed, I would advise any newcomers to stay far away from these.

lol! I laughed pretty hard when I read that. But I 100% agree :agree: Its a useless, over priced, over marketed, time consuming and just plain ridiculous prouduct that is worthy of only toilet flushing. It actually believe it contributed to the destroying of my hairline at the time of its use. Ive never seen my hair as bad as when I was using the comb.

Or he's just not patient. He should read Aplunk story to see what he's went through.

No it does'nt work for giving you hair on top of your head. it works basicly like a spray paint can would :freaked: . My strip scars caused a kind of shockloss effect on the surrounding hair, which makes me have what looks like visible a line of very thin hair. the spray just colours any scalp that is showing through. (its not clever but it works).
