People With Anxiety Using Finasteride

I am close to pulling the trigger on finasteride, as I desperately feel the need for an antiandrogen. However, I have had anxiety "on and off" for a year; the past 6-7 months it's been quite constant. Some periods are good, but it's constantly lingering. The past weeks have been sh*t.

This makes me wonder whether I should start finasteride at all. Is there anyone here who has had anxiety and taken finasteride, how were you affected?

Other than this, I have felt like a 'good candidate' given I show signs of high testosterone and DHT.

Say f*** it, get on .5mg dutasteride, 5mg finasteride, and minoxidil twice daily. Never worry about hairloss again. I think that's worth having a little anxiety.

Already on minoxidil. And I would never start dutasteride + finasteride combined to begin with. When my anxiety already sometimes feels like it's eating me alive, I don't want to increase it by one bit. Will probably bite the bullet either way though, as hair loss is a cause for anxiety and sh*t as well.

Worst come to worst, you can quit finasteride if you feel like you get symptoms. Contrary to what the crazies at the PFS forums say, the symptoms go away if you stop.

I has potential. But that's after chronic use for years. I know guys who were on it for 10 years that came off and felt fine. I also know of guys who were on it for 10 years and came off and still felt slow.

If you start using finasteride or dutasteride your going for the long long term. Your assuming to be on it for decades otherwise why bother you lose all the hair if you ever quit so you have plan on never quitting it. If your not going into it for the long haul dont even bother and avoid the risks altogether.
Using dutasteride and finasteride together is dumb dont do that. Use finasteride first

I have had horrible health anxiety since I was a young teenager, and I was super worried about taking propecia when I started losing my hair. Eventually I realized that hair loss was a bigger issue to me than a chance at getting side effects. When I first started taking the pill I thought I was getting side effects (which probably didn't exist), because of my health anxiety. After a few weeks you kind of forget you are even taking the pill, and at that point any sides I thought I was getting faded. My health anxiety moved onto other things that seemed like a bigger issue. I have been on the pill 2 years and really don't have any anxiety about it. I think one of the main reasons is that my health anxiety has convinced me that I have had problems so much worse than ED that this was something that was really a non-concern in comparison. Surprisingly my health anxiety in general has nearly gone away over the past couple years. Unfortunately though propecia has not halted my hair loss. Happy knowing I am trying everything I can though.
I would say jump on the pill, and if the anxiety is too much after a couple weeks then go off it.

There is no clear answer for this, depends how your body reacts to finasteride,i have bern on and off finasteride for years and every time i come off and start again my body reacts differently, sometimes make me sleep better and sometimes gives me anxiety but definitely finasteride has an effect on the mood
