Now, back to you... there is no reason for you to believe that anyone on this forum is out to humiliate you or put you down just to feel better about themselves.
I like to believe this kind of thing doesn't happen around here, or rarely happens.
Out in society.. sure, it happens often. But not here.

You see a few months ago a sad bastard named Sadviagra really got quite abusive with Evillocks.
He went way too far with the personal abuse and the bastard was totally out of line.
Then to make matters worse, other members of this forum joined in, and, I believe unfairly, also joined the attacked on Evillocks.

This abuse she copped was, for the must part, only directed at her because of her gender.
Evillocks suddenly became the scapegoat for all the insecurities felt by certain members of this site and she received a hell of a bashing.
A bashing she obviously didn't deserve as she has been nothing but straight up and genuine with people around here.
And I, for one, won't stand by and let that happen again.

Now, before you all think I'm just white knighting (whatever the f*** that means), I would gladly do it for anyone who is unfairly being ganged up on by a host of members, just so those members can let out some pent up frustration.

I will leave you with this: Just remember.. No-one on this forum is your enemy.
The enemy resides out there...

hey friends! on a side note, i went on an ACTUAL date tonight. I know this seems insignificant, but was a huge milestone for me over the last couple of years. Thank you, thank you, thank you I really don't know why certain members on here can't stand me, as I've done nothing to deserve this (in my opinion). I don't know what Dante's problem with me is, but I'd like to know.

EvilLocks is also an uncontroversial poster for the most, and uncontroversial moderates generally don't draw vitriol.

The only "extreme" we get of her are:
- She's the only Norwegian poster on the forum. Does anybody hate her for that reason? I doubt it. Personally, I'm jealous of her opportunities for skiing and eating waffles though ;
- Her comments of once being or still being a beautiful women, nobody else talks about this here. Since she's the only person who talks about this, it makes her stand out for that reason;
- For that matter she is the only "woman" member of this forum who is posting regularly;
- There was a recent fight of EvilLocks with a deluded narcissist that led to a (really stupid) ~100-page thread, resulting in both EvilLocks and the deluded narcissist being banned;

If I'm going to take a wild guess as to why Dante hates me, I'd say it's because he believes I'm a privileged, spoiled brat who's losing a bit of hair and is complaining because of that. But truth is, he doesn't know me or know anything about what I've been through, so in my opinion he's not in a position to judge. I'm not here to make anyone feel bad or anything like that, I'm simply here because I'm losing my hair too - like all of you, and therefore I have every right to be here. I don't want to step on anyone's toes but that's the truth. So please Dante, try to understand where I'm coming from. I'm not here to make you feel bad, I'm simply here because I too am losing my hair - just like you. And I have every right to feel bad about it.

I understand your resentment, but it doesn't do you any favours. Bitterness is like quicksand, if you fall in, it's really hard to get out.

Anyway, I won't argue this point further, because it's possible that everybody telling you not to bully EL is itself a form of bullying. I'm not sure, but as a precaution I'm going to stop. My point's been made, and you've heard it and made your decision on it and other people's points too.

My general view is, that if you want to fight people and resent people you can do so over 99.9% of the internet. This forum is a rare oasis of relative peace and mutual support, so let's not ruin it by throwing bromides at each other.

Evil I think you can put your concern(s)/doubts to rest now, and take into serious account that the overwhelming majority of posters here
demonstrate a bona-fide affinity towards you.
Because hurtful words will hurt worse for the individual with an already injured self-esteem, it is on behalf of the preservation of your wellbeing (as much as it is for the rest of us) that you/we rely more on our greater sensibilities to insulate us from personal offenses.

We all do ourselves a greater service when we try better to refrain from internalizing or engaging in counterproductive and/or counterintuitive discourse. One simple way to counteract this environmental hazard is to either avoid it in the first. or confront it and shut it down before it escalates. If/when common sense fails us or our instincts (or smileys ) just aren't getting through,
then a smoke break might be the next line of business in order.

Please make no mistake, I am in no way suggesting gourmetstylewellness.com members need to interact in a sterilizing atmospheric bubble state where the pressure controllers are fully dialed up and opposing views are neutralized on sight.
Healthy debate is critical for support forums in general, and the livelier or vigorous each constructive debate becomes ought to convince
even the most morose or apathetic member here, that people are interested in what you have to say and/or how you say it, and behind the shield/sword of anonymity they actually care for you.
