Perennial folligen snoop!

folligen

I added folligen to my finpecia, minoxidil regime almost a year ago b/c it was way cheaper than tricomin. The thickening of the hair around my bangs, and middle of my head was very obvious and sudden. Even thicker now than it was when I was 18, except for the thin spot (39 yo now). The rear thin spot has thickened some, and is very hard to notice with dry short hair. I'm happy with it, but I want to spike my hair. I'm better looking that way, so I'm still trying to fill it in completely. Might add Revivogen to the mix.

I use folligen once a day. First it turned my whole face blush, but I was happy b/c that meant more blood flow. This reaction stopped less than a week. I've noticed my hair doesn't fall out even at a normal rate it seems. I use the cream, but don't like the way it makes your hair pastey.

Does the spray do this? Can you use the spray and style your hair afterwards?

You really can not style your hair immediately after using folligen spray. I suppose the darker your hair, the less noticible but I have blondish hair so its quite obvious. I can use folligen at night and style the next morning without washing but i need to use a gel which gives my hair a darker, wet look otherwise the green tint is noticeable.

Hmmm more good reviews of the stuff, I think i might order some folligen.

The fact that Pickart advised people to only use it every second day is a definate factor, along with price, as I hate having to spend too much time on topicals.

Good call Felk. Folligen is one of those inexpensive products that can only help a regimen.

A really weird thing about folligen which I noticed the other day is that diluting it with water actually makes it more staining rather than less, which is what you'd expect. Perhaps something to do with the precise alcohol/water concentartions... My hair is blond but I don't seem to have problems with staining any more (I did when I diluted it).

Well I'm just bowled over by the fact that 2 weeks after using the new folligen spray with the free emu oil samples that they provided, I have a bunch of new fast-growing long vellus hairs shooting up on the hairline in a small tuft!
Very encouraging and I'm certainly keeping an eye on it. :)

Trying to order some Folligen. I notice gourmetstylewellness.com only has lotion, cream and spray. I thought I saw a shampoo elsewhere. Is it effective? What is everyone else using? My hair in diffuse thinning and it may be hard to apply. Please help.

I would not consider it to be anywhere near enough for effecting your hairloss. Stick with the topicals because shampoo is not on your head for long enough to have any effect (as a copper peptide treatment)

Thanks. So then what, the cream, lotion or spray? None of them seem to be easy to apply where there's hair. Says easily accessible skin. I'm thinking the lotion. Can I apply it with a dropper if I want?

im gonna go for the spray i think. probably be quite awkward putting the lotion on if youve got decent coverage and you end up wasting loads.theres more in the spray too.

Use the spray with a dropper. That will last the longest and get the most on your scalp rather than on your hair.

OK, so I got Folligen spray in the mail the other day. I diluted it to about 30% and apply it with a dropper like minoxidil. When should I apply it? Before or after minoxidil? And how long of a wait in between?

when you want to apply it is debatable. The folligen literature as well as the company website states that you should allow minoxidil several minutes to dry then apply folligen. However anyone who has every used rogaine or generic minoxidil will testify that it takes a good hour or so depending on how much minoxidil you apply for it to dry and even then will probably still be reasonably greasy. Anyways that is what I have been doing, waiting an hour or so before applying. Supposedly the vehicle that folligen uses for absorbtion can aid minoxidil in absorbtion also.

I've never noticed the green hue everyone mentions with Folligen until tonight. I applied minoxidil first (like I've heard in posts), then Folligen about half hout later. Scalp turned yellowish green. Tried washing it but no dice. Gonna stick to Folligen first then minoxidil much later if I can or I'll skip the minoxidil. Thing is, after a month using Folligen I think it's working. Nothing difinitive yet however MUCH less fall-out in the shower. Is that possible? I'm pretty siked. Maybe tomorrow it'll all go to sh*t again, who knows. But I really feel like the Folligen helped, no joke! Not to mention I like how my hair feels with it. I guess it's OK to get in your hair, no? And what if it makes your scalp green? If it works I'll dye my hair green to match if I have to!!!!! Actually that's whats happening... my gray hairs turned green. Still I think it's the minoxidil/Folligen reaction. Anyway, I hope to post a positive follow up.

My experience with folligen is the exact opposite to what i was expecting...

I was told it would turn my scalp green, it hasn't at all, I use it straight, and I have fair skin

I was told it would be great for soothing irritation, instead it's given me a very mild itch all over, i believe. Sorta more like a tingling feeling, not the aggressive itching/mild pain i would get when my hairline receded.

I was told it was very messy to use, however if anything it helps my hair when it's looking very thin and wispy after a wash.

After tring the three copper peptide products - Tricomin, AC and Folligen, I vote for Tricomin. Folligen is so high in CP that it burnt my scalp. Literally. Besides, if you smell your hands after applying it, you can actually smell the odor of metal. all this made me think that there are actually FREE copper ions in this solution that I don't want to mess up with.
Also, after a while, three or four months, it seemed like the peptides participated on the bottom of the bottle and no matter how hard I shaked it they just refused to dissolve back into the solution.
I do recommend on Folligen shampoo though.

Tricomin is the best in my opinion, doesn't smell of any superflous cheap perfume, doesn't leave residues on the scalp/hair, will never sting, gives a nice sensation of cooling (due to the menthol inside) and....I REALLY LIKE THE AMAZING, SKYISH BLUE TINT IT HAS!! (Partially because of the copper blueish peptides and partially because of the addtional color in it)

OK, so if I feel that Folligen is helping and I'm getting less fallout, it must be that I'm getting a lot of fall out due to a bad scalp condition (possibly brought on by minoxidil), no? So what would be the next product to help in this area?

Free copper ions? They're DHT inhibitors i believe, so if that's what they are (hard to judge just by... metallic smell :p) shouldn't be a problem :p

A solution of free copper ions would be extremely corrosive to the scalp. I wouldn't recommend it!
