Periods Of Intense Itching/shedding On Finasteride

Hey guys, been on .2mgs of finasteride ED for about 4.5 months now. DUring the first 3-4 weeks, I experienced an intense itch/shed that subsided afterwards. For the next 3 months, I'd experience a very calm scalp with little shedding to boot. 3 weeks ago, I experienced heavy shedding and itching again, and I've lost a TON of density since then- my crown is thinner than ever! The itch since two days ago has gone down from 90% to about 10-20% now, but I'm worried for my crown.

Are there any explanations for this? Has anyone on finasteride experienced short [3-4 weeks] periods of heavy shedding along with itching, only to find it stopping?

.2 mg may not be enough to control DHT from "attacking" your scalp. Try .5 mg and see if the itch goes away.

After your first shedding, did you see any thickness or regrowth.
Shedding is normally a good sign (finasteride responder)

It was more or less the same or below baseline after the first shed. This second shed has had my hair SUPER thin now, I'm worried.

The thing is, I've been continuing my .2mg regimen and it's gone away now. It kicks in randomly and then goes away after 2 weeks.

No answers? I'm just trying to figure out why I've lost so much hair randomly. When I shed, it comes with the itch and oiliness, but it only lasts for two weeks or so. My scalp is now really calm and I've stopped shedding, but this shed has been so discouraging, my hair is so thin!

Hey microdoser has your itching/shedding subsided? Didn't have it the first 2.5 months on finasteride and in mid April started shedding and itching happened where hair was being lost. The weird thing is that I had this before finasteride, and the itching usually starts after I notice the shedding. Makes me hope it's just mental cause I definitely have OCD and praying that it's just a normal finasteride shed (heard it starts between weeks 12-16 which is exactly when it happened) but I'm quite skeptical.
