Here is Joe Tillman, the legendary "JoeTronic" of hairloss forums exhibiting himself on a hotel deck (still in the shade) with a beautiful view of a harbor in the background. He is showing you 7,900-something worth of plugs. ..........http://www.hairsite4.com/dc/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=12&topic_id=39865&mesg_id=39892#39892

How much does almost 8,000 plugs cost? Costs per graft vary from 3.00 bucks per graft to 10.00 per graft (Dr. Robert Bernstein). Dr. Jerry Cooley, whom "not me" appears to be comfortable with (all kidding aside, Cooley has a very good reputation as an skilled, ethical Doctor) is $5.00 per graft according to this price comparison listed on this http://www.hairtransplantcosts.com/pric ... geons.html site. Thats a good place to check out docs by the way............

So how much would Joe Tillman's hair have cost him if he started right now if he used Dr. Cooley's price of 5 bucks per graft for about 8,000 grafts? Lets see here 5x8=40...........and lets add those three zeros and we get...................: $40,000. Thats right boys. FORTY THOUSAND DOLLARS. Look at Joe's pics again. Thats state of the art work on him. He isn't showcasing the back of his head, (which has had 7900-something follicualr units which proboably average between 2 and 3 hairs taken out of them.......................meaning his wreath would be missing approximately 18-20,000 hairs).

In conclusion boys, if youre young................and just starting to receed, and want to "fill in" those temples, keep in mind over the years as you continue to lose hair (even with finasteride and minoxidil), you will have to go back again and again to "fill in". Many surgeries over your lifetime to have a head of hair like Joe has instead of http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl= ... n%26sa%3DN Kelly Slater, world champion surfer's hairstyle. By the way..............................I wonder how Kelly Slater does with the babes? Lets see............http://images.google.com ... n%26sa%3DN Why, there is a pic of him with Leo DiCarprio's ex Gisele Bundchen and he used to date Pamela Anderson http://www.lacitybeat.com/article.php?i ... ssueNum=10 . Gee, I guess that a buff bod and a neat buzzcut that you can do at home with clippers bought from K-Mart arent so bad after all huh? Just think, the money you save can pay for a cloning procedure when it comes out.

Guys,

You'll have to copy, cut and pate Joe's pics to your address bar. That link wouldn't send here on gourmetstylewellness.com for whatever reason. Its at hairsite.com in the transplants forum.

In case you dont know how to do it though.............move your mouse to the side of the letters in the link, and left-click it. The text on the link will appear blue, then right click it. A drop down menu will appear. Choose copy, click it. Then move to the address bar and click it. A drop down menu will appear again, hit paste..............................then go to the end of the bar and hit the "go" button beside the green and white arrow. Then you can see Joe Tillman, aka Joe Tronic's transplant.

Of course, what this guy fails to tell you (because his only experience with hair transplants is from a clinic notorious for ripping people off) is that most physicians use a scale.

Say, $5 per graft for the first 1,000 or 1,500.

Then $4 or $3.50 or so from there.

Rarely will a patient that is recieving significant graft counts pay "full retail" from a respectable hair restoration physician. Least of all, docs such as Cooley, H&W, Shapiro, etc.

Oh, and Michael Barry, please learn to use the URL function in making posts with links in them. It's terribly annoying to side-scroll for the whole page whenever you place a long link.

There ya go...................thats hysterical. Lots of guys who get that early plug work will be confronted with that in thirty years

in 30 years i dont think anyone will be worrying much pal.

Cloning and who knows what else will be out long before that.

tpeter,

I very much hope so man. Both for you and myself..........and all the guys who hate losing their hair. There is nothing wrong for us not to want to lose our hair. If it was something that happened to all men, then it would be different. We are not weird or vain, we just naturally want something that has been taken away from us.

Howeve tpeter, I'd wait at least unitl ICX completes their phase 2 trials anyway before I'd press on with a surgery at this point. What another 14-15 months? Not much. We should know if those guys could produce many new follicles out of a few by the results of these tests. If they pass phase 2, in all likelihood the indication will eventually be released after phase three and the one year review period thereafter. Most indications that get past phase two eventually get released. Lets keep our fingers crossed and hope for Dr. Kemp at ICX.

Well, according to H&W's price structure (appropriate since they did the work) Joe's work would have cost about $25,000. If you saw his before picture, it was money well spent.

fitz,

H&W does good work dont they? Ive seen lots of pics. Talented docs.

To be honest though, for a man who is "filling in" as he receeds in perhaps 500-1000 graft surgeries at a time, he WILL NOT get to the point to hit the "sliding scale" at most places (unless the Doctor he uses counts all work he did on you beforehand). As time passes and inflation rises, docs do have to raise their prices a wee bit too. I'd imagine a decade from now docs may be charging .50 more a graft to keep the same standard of living.

Joe Tillman has usually struck me as honest also. I dont think he'd advise 25 year-old NW3's to "go for that movie star" hairline.
