Please critique my new regime

Not just a new regime, but my first. I just started treatment 5 weeks ago:

minoxidil 5% 2x / day

nizoral 2x / week
T-gel 2x / week
Progaine 3x / week (I just happen to like this shampoo, I don't expect any results from it).

Is it good / bad / neutral / crazy to use both nizoral and T-gel (on different days)?

Criticism welcome!

Also, I will start using generic proscar 1.25mg 5x per week AFTER I get a blood test.

Question: Once I start using generic proscar, can I reduce minoxidil to 1x per day? I haven't heard a clear answer on this yet! Is the jury still out? I strongly dislike using minoxidil 2x / day.

Use 1mg proscar every day 7 days a week

Or use 1.25mg proscar every day 7 days a week.

Dont skip two days a week. It doesn't work like that.

Dont waste your money on progaine. Find a good shampoo that cosmetically thickens your hair. I would reccomend Folligen or Thicker Fuller Hair shampoo.

Secondly. Pick either TGEL or Nizoral to start with. Not both. I made this mistake. I wouls start with Nizoral for a month and see if that keeps your scalp healthy. If it doesn't stop, using that and use TGel for a month. Then maybe you could try a combo, but not before trying each separately.

Thirdly. You may want to add TSAL on the same days as nizoral. This will remove dead skin cells from your scalp and really helps out. I use it on 2 out of my 3 nizoral days.

The rogain and proscar look solid. Good luck.

If you are really set on NOT taking minoxidil 2x a day, then you might as well start doing it now. If you are thinking that the potential negative effects of dropping one application per day of minoxidil will be offset by positive effects of starting Proscar in the short term, you are wrong.

It is a timing issue. If you have any negative reactions to dropping one of your daily minoxidil applications you will see them in the short term, over the next couple months or so. Whereas, any positive effects of Proscar probably won't be visible for another 4-6 months.

Actually I am using both because I like them both, but I like nizoral far better. So I guess I'll stop using Tgel? I think nizoral is a great shampoo anyway!

I've read many of your posts, and you seem to be well-informed on a variety of subjects, but I believe I my usage is correct in this case.

I realize that Regimen is also correct, and more commonly used on this site. But I'm not one to follow the masses - I cross my '7's and 'Z's, and spell flavour with a 'u.' :)

Yeah, a Regimen. Don't be a b**ch, and use the word in it's proper form.

Typical corvette guy mentality. Someone else brings a subject up which I have no interest in, and after I correctly defend my intentional spelling (and prove I'm correct), you jump in to insult me, yet I'm the b**ch?

Next you'll be commanding me to accept OHV V8s as technologically superior, right? I'm entitled to my own opinion and my own way of doing things. If you don't like it, too bad.

If you want someone to agree with you in the future, try not to use insults and swear words to get your point across.

No replacement for displacement baby. If I can still toast a 4.6 rustang with a 32V DOHC in my 16V OHV it will ALWAYS be superior. Who cares about high revving engines... If you can have *** loads of low end torque it doesn't matter WHAT the gearing is.

And by the way, I got rid of my corvette a few years ago, I'm driving a '99 SS Camaro now.

And get that stick out of your *** sally, I'm just messing with you. You will learn to love me, or I will make your stay here miserable :)

Considering my dislike for mustangs, I guess I can admit I'm ready to join your team - just waiting for the C6 Z06 to come out! I'm not a Vette guy, but I want one because I could become a MUCH better driver if I could push a Z06 to its limits on the track. To go real fast in it seems easy, but to go faster than that requires serious skill. I might even get a C5 Z06 soon if prices continue to plunge.

For the record, I prefer high-revving engines. Why? My favourite race series are those with high HP and [relatively] low torque vehicles, such as F1 and sportbike. A torquey engine can pull hard in almost any gear, but a higher-revving engine takes more skill to drive optimally. However, I still want to try the Vette just because I'm a fan of sports cars. I'd eventually like to own every type of sports car that I deem worthy, so I can judge them all based on my own experience.

After driving both, I prefer my car's engine (S62) over the LS6, even with its lower displacement, higher compression, DOHC, and VANOS! ;)

I just checked and regime is an acceptable usage for a medical treament protocol.

Who knew??

Sorry for the premature slap!

As a multi corvette owner, I can attest to the allure of the LS1 and ZO6 version of the engine.

Drive a z06 full out and you won't care how many valves or where the cams are.

Tons of speed, very little money.

Drive on!

subjects suck

Don't back down on me now Brucey.

For sheer shock value in an engine though, the LT-5 is sexy. a 32V V8 back in the late 80's. 380HP in ANY car that ran on pump gas was awesome. Gotta love Lotus :)

I was waiting for the ZR1 to come up! :) So does this mean you don't stand behind your statement about 16V OHVs being superior?

What do you think about my last post (on higher-revving DOHC engines)?

Two quick points. I didn't back down Sting but the dictionary allows the word regime so I had to be rigorous about it. Language is my thing!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: The ZR1, a wonderful odd piece for its time but I have driven both the zr1 and the zo6 and I will take the 6 any old time. What those guys at corvette have done with the 350 is really really amazing and getting better next year.

And yes, I know the CI is going up to 366 but it is STILL a small block Chevy.

:D

blah

396, not 366

Get yo facts straight niyah'.

I never said I liked an OHV ANY more than OHC. YOU said that :p

I'm just saying that if I can get more power out of my chevy OHV engine than a ford DOHC then the engine is superior. Capicshe? Foh real
