Hi everyone, I hope you all can help me.

In the beginning of the summer I started taking this supplement called Rebound XT. Its an estrogen blocker, I was taking to try and rid myself of gyno (b**** tits) Ive had since puberty. About the second month in I noticed my hair had thinned out allot between my temples and the front of my head. I immediately stopped taking it and went to the doctors.

He proscribed me nizoral and propecia. He said since it was hormonal I should be able to stop taking the propecia after 6 months or so.
After doing some research and learning about the different types of treatments and sides associated with propica I opted for spironolactone.

I buzzed my head to get a fresh start. I then used nizoral 3 or 4 times a weak and using head and shoulders shampoo and conditioner in one on the other days. It started to grow back! I thought/think or is my whole head starting to match the thinning? Im so confused.

I recently got my har cut again after letting it grow for 3 weeks, buzz on the sides and a number 3 on top. It looked, great or so I thought at first. Now Im not so sure. My head has been itchy in the 2 spots that were thinning and applying the spironolactone, now its itchy on the same lines but further back on the head and two very very small new bald spots have appeared, maybe.

I stopped using nizoral and H&S to stop the itching. I stopped for 2 days and used regular shampoo and conditioner. It didnt work, and then noticed it looked like my hair was different shades of color in different spots, or is it the way the light hits it?

I have looked at the Norwood scale and examined everyone elses male pattern baldness patters I have come across and none of them look like mine .
This post is long enough so ill just post some pictures of my head and prey you guys can give me some advice.

Thanks allot for taking the time.

In the first picture I circled the 2 spots in the front were it started and the 2 tiny spots I think have sprouted.
After taking these pictures I am now worried about the back middle of my head, or is that just the way the flash is hitting it.
After speaking with my mom she said my Grandfather (her father) is the only one in the family with hair loss. He was between a norwood 3 and 4 at age 67.

Come on gourmetstylewellness.com, this has been here for days and days; Ive also posted 2 other questions that never got a response. Anybody know a more popular hair loss forum where I can get some help?

Dude

Doesn’t look to me like you have any male pattern baldness – judging from the photos you’ve posted anyway. Obviously, you’d know your situation better than anyone else and even you seem a little confused by it.

I’d just chill out, keep using nizoral a couple of times a week and monitor your situation. Growing your hair out a bit might help you as the thinning (if any) would become more noticeable.

As for your gyno – are you sure this is what you have? Messing around with your hormones may not even be necessary? Have you tried simply doing a lot more aerobic exercise than you are currently doing? I’m not doubting what you say here – just making suggestions.

Stay positive, eat right and take regular exercise.

Good luck.

You hair looks fine, but its hard to tell with out more of a time period picture. If it continues to appear to thin out propecia, rogaine, and nizoral/tgel would be your best bet. The hard part is that your hair is so short so its hard to tell... which is why we as a group typically keep it short so its more difficult to tell/less noticable.

I see no signs of male pattern baldness, but it's hard to tell at that length and with that lighting.

Thanks allot for the replies. I guess Ill just keep an eye on it. Every day I look at my hair in the mirror, sometimes I think I am loosing it still and then sometimes I think Im not. I did definitely loose some from the rebound-xt. Defused thinning right on the 2 spots I circled by my forehead in the pics, little hard to see in the pictures.
My head feels itchy allot and now feels like theres little bumps in some spots. Is this from using nizoral and H&S too much?

I don't know why you took both Nizoral and H&S. Is your dandruff that bad? Lay off the H&S and keep using Nizoral. I tried H&S once and that stuff just made me balder.
Did you take the anti-estrogen because you were lifting and developed gyno? Maybe try Nolvadex for gyno. I would do what the doctor recommended and take Nizoral and Propecia only. I don't think you need spironolactone either.

Well I didnt take propecia because Ive read here whatever hair you gain while on it youll loose when you stop taking it, and maybe even more.
He wanted me to take it just for 6 months or so.
Think I should?

I was using nizoral & H&S to block DHT, but ill try just using nizoral 3 times a
week.
I was applying the spironolactone to the spots where I thinned from the rebound to try and regrow the hair and prevent further thinning.
Should I give the spironolactone a rest also?

Again, thanks for the help...
