Poor Responder To Anti-hairloss Meds. Can I Still Transplant?

In the past couple of years I’ve tried my best to save my hair through combinations of finasteride, dutasteride, ru58841 and minoxidil.

My hair simply doesn’t respond to these medications, but I can’t stand not having a full head of hair.

I’m currently 21 years of age and at a Norwood 3.

I’d like to have a hair transplant but I have a few questions:

1. Is a transplant useless without hair loss meds?

2. Can you reach a full head of hair from a Norwood 7?

3. I’m aware donor hair is DHT resistant. If I’m a NW3 and I transplant, my existing hairs will fall out. Is it possible to simply keep transplanting as I age to always give the illusion of a full head of hair? Until I finally reach nw7 with a full head of DHT resistant donor hair?

4. Does the donor hair stimulate the existing hairs to fall out faster?

Thank you guys

When you mean your hair doesn't respond do you mean it didn't regrow any hair or you continued to lose hair? Some people such as @jgray201 did not respond to finasteride, dutasteride and topical minoxidil but managed to regain a full head of hair from a NW3v to a NW1 using the anti androgen spironolactone.. It might be something to consider after thorough research. A NW7 can never regain a full head of hair. With decent/good donor a NW7 could get one of two options:

1.) A transplant upfront to create a hairline for facial framing and some hairs mid scalp while leaving the crown completely bald.

2.) Getting a low density hair transplant across most of the bald areas of the scalp, accompanied by an SMP procedure and use of concealers like toppik and dermmatch. You could probably get better results with this method if you were a NW7 but you couldn't go swimming or get caught in heavy rain as you would lose most of your 'hair'.
