More than 2 years off Propecia. Sexual problems STILL haven't gone away and are as bad as ever.

Uhm, thanks for responding. But this wasn't a b**ch and moad thread about finasteride problems, it was for POSITIVE experiences.

Well, anytime there's a thread about side effects, someone always has to post in that thread about what great results they are having, so I guess I thought I'd return the courtesy.

Wow! What a great attitude! So basically, you are saying, "Hey, since other people do something bad, I am going to do the same!" :!:

Great way to contribute to this forum community. Keep up the good work! :hairy: :p

If I was you I was not worry about side effects and just get on with taking the drug.

You can not possibly extrapolate anyway whether you are likely to experience side effects from other people's personal experiences.

A million people could respond to your post and tell you that finasteride was the best thing for them since sliced bread, with no sides and you could still suffer side effects.

Like I said before, with respect, its a pointless post. If I knew that I had a 97% chance of succeeding with treatment I wouldn't concern myself with extracting every positive appraisal from that 97% - I would just get on with my life.

On the other hand those people who are experiencing side effects from finasteride have every right to post here to look for answers - you shouldn't take that out of context.

Thanks for your thoughts. However, if it's such a pointless post, why do you keep reading and commenting on it? :p

Again, I will repeat, this was just to be a friendly thread for people to post postive finasteride side effect comments. I am in NO WAY LOOKING for this to replace Merck and other *real* scientific studies. :) Truly, I was just trying to provide a nice counter-point in this forum -- that's all. :D

Additionally, I am not in ANY way saying for people not to post their complaints in this forum (so I don't understand why you imply I am?), just not in this thread! :) Thus the subject title, "post positive comments"

I guess you could say that my story supports that belief that Finasteride works. I used it for about a year and a half and did not see a huge amount of regrowth, but the loss was not significant. Then when I stopped taking it to pursue this new laser treatment machine, I lost quite a bit in my crown area. I ended up going back to the doctor who originally prescribed it and he believed that I lost more hair because I quit taking Propecia (at the advice of the people who worked at the laster machine place). If I could go back, I would have never stopped taking it.

Actually, it IS a great attitude. Thank you for your praise.

When people with good results post in side effects threads, they do so with the intent of presenting a balanced view. I am simply doing the same. So why do you say that this is "something bad"???

9 months, slight recession in front, slight thinning at vertex, overall loss of density. Maintaining. Where would I be without it??

I have been on finasteride for exactly 28 days. I have no sides from finasteride so far.

9,5 months of finasteride (1mg) and minoxidil (2%)

THE GOOD:
-Hairloss stopped, at least I think so :)
-Vertex filled up visibly
-Scalp itching is much better now
-Lots of little hairs, yet small and colorless

THE BAD:
-Bad shed right now :freaked2:

LIBIDO:
It thought I would suffer from all kind of sides, I was totally obsessed with this. I tried to relax, take my meds, cut down on stress..... everything is fine now :)

I oitched a tent this morning - I couldn't even go to toilet for 45mins!! ;) Yuppie!
