Possible reasons for hair becoming wavy/changing texture in certain places?

after taking anabolic steroids, which also caused me to shed some hair

my hair has always been fine and completely straight, but it turned wavy after i started to shed
the hair that grows on the sides and the hair that grows from the temples

was it caused by the excess dht i was exposed to? and will it return back to being straight?

when i was 16, i shaved the sides of my head like a punk rocker. shaved them with a straight or electric razor daily for about a year. the hair that grew back is darker, more course, and curly. the rest of my hair is straight. You can easily tell exactly where i had it shaved. I always regretted shaving it because of this. I have had barbers baffled by this several times
