I have noticed that there are many random threads throughout this forum covering buzzed hair cuts and the associated dilemmas people face. For most people, understanding how a buzzed hair cut will change their appearance is a big concern.

A few common questions seem to be:

1. Will a buzzed hair cut make the hairloss look more obvious or less obvious?
2. Does a buzzed haircut look better or worse depending on the type and degree of hairloss?
3. What is the best length for a buzz cut?
4. Will my head shape suite a buzz cut?

While there are many discussions on this topic, I have found that images are worth a thousand words. You can say that a buzz cut will hide the hairloss but that is a very subjective subject. What is acceptable for one person may not be acceptable for another.

Before and after images is the easiest way for someone to truly appreciate the impact of a buzz cut. Seeing photos of people who reflect your own hairloss and head shape could be very reassuring.

Hopefully this post will serve to consolidate buzzed images into a single thread. For many people the decision to buzz their hair is almost as dramatic as discovering they are going bald. So please post your images here.

I don't mind posting some embarrassing pictures of myself.

I've had a high hairline since puberty, and I never knew what to do with my naturally thin, curly hair. I used to sport this ugly style when I was lazy and just brushed it all forward in the morning because I didn't care enough to do anything else:



Once in a while, I would buzz it:


Recently, I totally shaved it (ignore the eye in mid-blink):


One thing I've noticed going back through my pictures is that since I shaved bald, I look happier and don't slouch anymore. Couldn't be happier.

i think if your gonna buzz, every now and then shave it with a blade. its always grown back a little thicker and more coarse every time i've shaved it with a blade.

lumpy heads best avoid this though.

lol...i dont think you'll have to be angry because i've kept that look since. I get the lowest possible cut and do it once every two to three weeks and i love it!! I just cant believe how horrible it looked before...

I buzz my head, because once it gets long its pretty unmangeable..it looks ugly when it jus lies...cant spike it cuz my entire scalp is visible plus it shows through when its wet. I dont like that look..it doesnt help that both my parents have very thin hair. diff ppl say diff things about my buzz..some like it some dont, some say i look like im balding some dont...what is consistent tho is chicks telling me they love it cuz it ages me...(WHICH IS GOOD when they told me I look like im 12 years old with hair) I havent ever been ID'ed with a buzz.

Both barcafan and MacAttack look much better, because when you have little recession it looks little bit unaesthetically. Buzz is really OK at this point as it is much more smooth and elegant and sometimes even fashionable...
