Hold back as many weapons as you can. You will need them later.

Fighting hair loss is a marathon.

This stuff only helps for so long.

but dont you lose some of the synergistic effect if you follow that strategy?

In the short term yes. But again, this is a marathon.

it's true. People continue to gradually lose hair on propecia because male pattern baldness gets stronger. Propecia does not get weaker. If you save propecia for later, you are just hurting yourself. And when you get off minoxidil, you go back to where you would have been without it.

When you get off propecia, you go back to where you would have been without it. You match the placebo group.

cassin is right...minoxidil just gives you a temporary boost in hair counts....maybe for a few years..if you can save that boost for later on when your hair loss becomes more aggressive you can buy yourself some more time with hair.

minoxidil does not wear off. if you take it an finasteride for 10 years, or just finasteride for 10 years, and minoxidil the last two, your hair at year 10 will look the same. The only reason minoxidil users go downhill is if they are not on finasteride, or finasteride does not stop their loss.

And I bet a big chunk of the propecia post 2-year downward slide is just non-responders pulling the averages down, after responders have peaked and are just maintaining.
