I am on Minoxidil and Nizoral 2% for past 2.5 years with no success and my hair is worse now. The previous doctor never discussed with me about Finasteride surprisingly. However he had put me on topical finasteride for 3 months. And at that point I didn’t now anything about finasteride and its side effects. So I was really casual with his approach. But then he put me on just 10% Min.
Recently visited a new dermatologist for getting prescription of Finasteride. He prescribed me the medicine by looking at my receding hairline. But when I told him that that I have PRE EXISTING GYNO (puffy nipples) from puberty he steeped back and told me that Finasteride is not for you, as this medicine may exaggerate your existing gyno. He examined my chest but he couldn’t confirm if it is gyno. So he asked me to get my gyno confirmed once again by a General Surgeon by performing an Ultrasound and report him back before starting the treatment. I am yet to visit a general surgeon.
I really want to save my hair and get on Finasteride as soon as possible. But the doctor’s opinion made me really sad. I had huge expectations from the various success stories that I have seen on people with finasteride.
Is it also likely that I will be more prone to side on finasteride due to pre existing gyno and stuffs.
What do I do now. Please guide me here. Your opinion will me much appreciated.
