If one is going to get on Propecia treatment, what blood or hormone test one should take before taking it?
I realize that they're not necessary but I think it's good to know your baseline before treatment so at least you can compare later, regardless the drug might work or not.

Please be specific about the name of each test so I can correctly write it down.
And side question, should one get thyroid hormone tested before Propecia treatment too?

Thanks.

Testosterone, estradiol, SHBG, dihidrotestosterone, at a minimum,

If you're already doing it, I'd throw in LH, FSH, prolactin, glucose, insulin, cholesterol, and whatever else your doctor recommends for a complete health profile.

Check the propeciahelp forums for a more complete discussion.

I don't know anything about thyroids sorry.

I've jotted down the recommended shortlist from http://propeciahelp.com/testing and asked a local lab.
Androstenedione and 3alpha-diol G are not available. I think these two aren't so common test?

Even with just 12 tests, they will cost me a fortune here ($400-500).
Is 3alpha-diol G test highly encouraged? I read that it's more accurate for 5ARII than DHT test. Maybe it's not available in my country.
Vitamin D test is also expensive, can I skip it?
