Propecia 5 months. Hair significantly worse

I'm 23 years old, with a strong family history of male pattern baldness.

I had no noticeable hairloss until about 18 months ago.

So for about 5 months I have been on 1.25mg daily and without a doubt my hair has gotten a lot worse.

My crown for the first time is noticeable thinning, along with all hair on top. My hairline has thinned and receded significantly.

I'm going to stay on finasteride indefinitely, I'm just curious if the shedding period on finasteride usually makes a significant cosmetic difference?

Sorry I don't have any before photos but please take my word for it. I can't figure out how to post pictures on here from an iPhone either.

According to studies, only 10 % got worse. However you've been only on it for 5 months and my Doctor said it can take up to a year before results are manifested. Do you mind me asking if you got the meds through a valid us pharmacy or through a rogue pharmacy?

I'm at almost 3 years on finasteride + nizoral, started 2011, no gains, lose hair every day in shower, can see bald spots all over the top now. It's really bad.

Im sorry to hear that, some people just have really aggressive hairloss which continues its path even with effective treatment

How old are you and what Norwood stage were you when you began treatment. Its known that starting finasteride too late wont be of much help

I took dutasteride for 3-4 years and the effects wore off and had bad brain fog, and generally felt ****. Now, 5 years after stopping I need to do something. Thinking of a plan.....
