propecia and receding hair line

I'm about to try propecia, and was hoping that it would help my receding hair line. It's not that bad, and can be covered when i comb forward, but when i look closely at the part where it has receded, it looks to be the same skin as my forehead (bald). I was wondering if there are still hair follicles there that might be rejuvinated with propecia, or are they just dead there? Can propecia help me with my receding hair line even though i dont see any follicles in that area? thanks

will be tough. Propecia is better at strengthening existing hair and keeping them from getting worse.

Worth a shot though. If nothing else it can slow down future recession. You might want to throw in minoxidil as well for maximum regrowth.

Follicles are there and most likely alive, but propecia probably isnt going to help you in that area.

minoxidil

i was using minoxidil.. applied it twice, but quit real quick after i read some more info on it. I read that minoxidil is only meant for people who are really losing hair, and have short hair. My problem is my hair is thinning, but it is still pretty long on the top. I'm afraid that if i use minoxidil, I'd lose those hair to have it replaced by bushy peach fuzz. That would really suck for me. am i right to assume this?

hair follicles

i got a questin about hair follicles. Do they really die out on men that are bald? or are they just "resting"? also, when i was younger, i had my sister pluck out some white hairs with a tweezer. Does plucking hair like that damage the follicles, and might be the cause of my hair thinning now? thanks

i think i'm just going to apply the minoxidil on my receding hair line. That shouldnt be a problem right?

If I have a part on my vertex that got completely f'ed up due to a bout of Telogen Effluvium according to a few specialists, but has not gotten better in a year...can i simply put Minoxidal ONLY on this area and pray for the best?
I dont want Minoxidal to touch any other area on my head
