Hey everyone.....is propecia going to stop a mature hairline/receding hairline. I know it stops balding, but what if somebody is just experiencing maturing/slight receding

Yeah I'm in the same boat. My hair isn't even really receding yet, it's just thinning at the hairline. I've been taking Propecia 2 months, will it help? I'm having major decrease in libido too.

From what I can tell, temple recession is subject to the most aggressive baldness for guys, and I'm not sure how successful finasteride can be even if you have great results everywhere else.

In my case, the combination of finasteride and some feminising medications have had terrific results everywhere but my temples, that said, my temples had receded well over ten years before I started taking medication. Ten years is (I believe) deemed as about the limit where finasteride can recover hair that has receded.

I was looking at my old pictures, I noticed that my temples have been receding for more than 5 years. The signs of male pattern baldness were there for a long time and it never really bothered me until I started thinning in the front and top. The point I am trying to make is that temple recession isn't necessarily aggressive.

There are different opinions on the subject, but the general consensus is that finastride should be able to stop/slow down hairline recession. I've been on finasteride for a short time and I haven't seen any thickening yet, but I've been on minoxidil for 3.5 months now. I don't have any major regrowth, but I believe it's helping with my temples and I expect some of the hairs to thicken in the next few months.
