Propecia and Rogaine. What I've experienced and what should I do next?

Hey all. I'm 21, noticed hair thinning at age 19. I've been on propecia for 7 weeks now and started rogaine 1 week ago. My entire time on Propecia I noticed zero side effects. One week on rogaine and i've noticed some facial swelling (I can both see and feel it). Is this too fast to feel sides or no? I looked up sides of both drugs and facial swelling was a side of rogaine but not propecia. I think I will quit rogaine for a week or 2 and see if the sides go away. I may get on nizoral as well if I find out that the rogaine was causing the sides. What do you guys think? Is there anything you can recommend? I have pictures of when I started my treatment (7 weeks ago) and will post my results with an after picture after about 3 months or so. Thanks.

If your face is bloating/swelling it means too much Minoxidil is going systemic. It's a known side effect. You may need to consider lowering the strength, changing the vehicle (liquid/foam?) or even using a weak diuretic.

I am using 5% rogaine liquid at night (1.5-2) ml and 5% rogaine foam in the morning (1-2 cap sizes). I could try the lower, 2% liquid or try using just at night?? Regardless I think I am going to cut it for a week or 2 to see if it is the rogaine. I figure I've only been on it for a week so cutting it out of my regimen shouldn't have large of an effect, if any.

Drop it and it will subside. It's the Minoxidil, not the Propecia.

Switch to foam minoxidil, it's better than liquid in every single way. Though I would quit minoxidil for a while until the swelling goes away. If foam minoxidil still makes you swell, try the women's foam minoxidil which is not as strong.
