Propecia problems

I've been on Propecia for 1 1/2 months and the last few days I've run into problems. Increasingly over the last three days, the amount of semen has significantly decreased after ejaculation, my libido is way down and sustaining a full erection is hard to keep. Are these problems common and are they supposed to go away?

Thanks for your help.

Yes, it's much more common than Merck says (2-5%). Although here you get wrong impression that almost everyone's having problems since those guys without problems are living it up as we speak, they need not to complain.

Anyway, I've had same kind of problems (now 4th week on Propecia 1mg). First my libido went up during first week but after that I've been practically living with dead wood. I initially got package of 98 pills and there's no way I'm going to buy another if my situation won't improve dramatically soon, I may even have to consider quitting completely before I've used all those 98 pills if this situation continues. No point to keep a couple of hairs and losing your erection!

I have never tried propecia but having viewed this site for a month or so I never will. I hear about it daily on posts that propecia is causing thinning or limp dick or no seaman etc etc... If you didn't know it from reading this site you would be as I am horrified by Propecia. It really seems to mess up your hormones and doesn't seem to help much according to the posts I have read.

In retrospect I have never read a post that stated Propecia is a miracle and has helped me grow more hair. Everyday some poor soul posts a complaint about this stuff....

All I can say is, thank-f*****g-god for Propecia. Cant say I appreciate your purely speculative, inexperienced negativism, Redbone. I've been on these forums for quite some time now and despite the complaints, the general consensus is that Propecia rocks.

AZJ, its pretty normal. Give it a few weeks, etc, for your hormone levels to start stabilizing. Keep an eye on things, maybe go to your Doctor and get your hormone levels checked, and definitely quit if it persists too long, but really this is something many of us encounter. I went through it myself and now my libido is as strong as ever.

I went through it also and came out strong.

Guys, glad to hear that these problems could be just some initial adjustment by the body of mine and you've gotten on right track. Could you tell how long exactly it took for you before all was normal again? A month or more? Did you have other problems than vanished libido?

I think I'm about to give propecia a shot. I have an appointment with the dermatologist thurs. I'll let everyone know what I go through. I just started taking Saw Palmetto last night (320 mg softgels). Saw Palmetto is suppose to work similar to finasteride at inhibiting dht plus enhancing libido at the same time. I'm hoping it will cancel out some of the negative effects of propecia.

Saw Palmetto enhancing libido? I took it and my libido al but disappeared, not to mention I became intensely depressed. None of that stuff for me!

I'm with flux, all i got was sore nips on saw pal. Besides, anything which decreases dht is bad for libido, dht plays a role in both libido & erectile function.

And yet, I have not experienced any change in libido or erectile function.
