I would really appreciate it if you guys could take a sec to list the side-effects you experience(d) with Propecia. I am really considering giving it a try but first I'd like to know how many of you guys did with it side-effects wise because I'm just so worried that I may permanently harm Wee Willy Winkie.

Thanx.

I have

- decreased sexual interest
- watery semen

Ditto for about 3 weeks where it was a concern.

I would say it took about 6 to 7 months until things were 100% nomral. Again, I only considered it a problem for about 3 weeks.

I have absolutely no complaints now, I am so happy I am taking finasteride.

Your choice, how will you know unless you try?

EDIT:

Just to be a little more clear, after that 3 week period I felt as if my only disfunction was my inability to launch a wad across the room like I have always been able to do. Sorry to be graphic, but hey, that was the way it was.

no sexual side effects. have noticed a few pimples though, may or may not be from the finasteride. but thats about it.

hmmmmm.........Just 1 week?

I would think this was Minoxidil related and not the finasteride IMO. Perhaps this is due because you dropped your minoxidil use to roughly one application a day? Just a thought.

Are you still on it? If not, how long have you been off it?

I think Dennis Miller said it the best on HBO show a couple of years ago. It was something to the likes of, 'researchers have found a treatment that stops hair loss in most men, the only side effect is that you can't get your dick hard after you start taking it, talk about cruel f*****g irony.'

I have had decreased sexual drive. It is there but decreased. Erections are not as easy or as hard as before. I need to add that I had a heck of a drive and although in my 30s I could go 4 times in a row frequently, no exaggeration.
Less semen. Also watery and less white. I have been on this for 3 years. It has gotten better than when I started. It took a good 9 months to recover from the initial shock.

In any case about a year ago I successfully switched from propecia to ¼ proscar. Nothing to it. Everyone should do this. I did not loose hair as a result.

Then about 5 month ago I started experimenting with reducing the dose to reduce the side effects. I first started cutting the proscar to 6 pieces. That went quite well. No problems. Sexual drive improved slightly. 2 months ago I started cutting propecia to ¼ pieces. Definite improvement in sexual drive and semen. I am still not where I was before I started taking this but close. There might have been a slight reduction in my hair at top of my head. So now I am on 1/3 propecia. I will soon switch to proscar and go to 1/10 pieces (need the sharpest knife you can get) or even 1/12 if I can cut it that small.

I am going to find the right balance.

I will repost this under a different thread to see if others have experimented with the doses.

After about 3 weeks I noticed that I couldn't get it up as easily, but now after 4.5 months I don't notice any side effect whatsoever. I had a slight pain in the nuts for about a week aswell.

Note: Any side effect I experienced cleared up very quickly, now mr wille is 110% normal again, I look forward to taking it in the evening. For me it has been a good course of action to prevent hairloss :hairy:

Coming up on two years on propecia in July. Apart from the 2 sheds I had I've --almost-- forgotten about hairloss, doing exactly what they said it would do. Oh and my sex drive vanished long ago...

About 1 week of decreased libido, 2-3 weeks of watery semen. After that everything works like normal.

Man, propecia seems to be hit or miss as far as side effects go. I'm a little worried about taking it now.

Just out of curiosity for any of you who discontinued because of the side effects; did they go away? How soon after?

I've been on drugs that are harsher on your body (read: accutane) but with that, the side effects went away quickly after getting off it.

Me too. I think about sex all day, everyday. I rate EVERY woman I see into 3 catagories: "will bang", "wont bang" and "would bang", (if I was stoned on E, or drunk).

(Jesus.... Im shallow.)

Everything I look at, gets warped into some type of sexual thought. The summer is the worst, I swear, some of the things women wear drives me insane.
