Propecia; Thinking Of Increasing Dosage

Hi Folks,

Currently taking 1.25mg a day and have been for about 4 years. I've noticed my temples are beginning to recede quicker and a line of hair I've used as a guide for checking hair retention/recession has started to recede away.
I split a 5mg pill into quarters but was thinking of taking an extra 1.25mg every second or third day; do you think this is wise and would it have any effect?

I also use rogaine twice a day (doubt it does anything) and nizoral once a week (can't say)

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

This is what I've tried and it seems to be working, take 1/2 Proscar one day, and the next day, take 1/4 Proscar, and follow that dosing down the line. It seems to have stopped my shedding, but I'm not giving medical advice.

I doubt that going from 1.25 mg to 2.5 mg every second or third day will make much of a difference. Going to 5 to 10 mg (or more) every day might help a bit. Have you considered using Prox-N in addition to the other things? It has ingredients which aren't included AT ALL in those other things you use. Some of them are really state-of-the-art.

Prox-n huh? Did you ever use this? If so did you have any good results from it?

Yes, I used Prox-N exclusively (along with NANO Shampoo) for a period of almost exactly two years. It did a bit more than maintain my hair for that entire period. My before-and-after photos of that period used to be posted here on this site, but they aren't here anymore.

Did you use the prescription version? And if you don't mind me asking- Why did you stop treatment?

During that two-year period covered by the before-and-after photos, I used nothing but Prox-N (the non-prescription version of Proxiphen) and NANO Shampoo. I quit using anything at all several years later just because I was devoting too much time to it all (by that time, I had added numerous other experimental treatments). It was simply starting to get to be too much.
