Propecia Timeframe - See many say 1-4mo - Share if you can !

Does anyone have an example or know someone that had success on Propecia in the 5-7 month period? Seems like most guys, if they are a responder, see results in 1-4 months. I know that you need to wait a year to see - and I will. But my diffuse hair loss, thinning and shedding is rapid and consistent. I feel like most guys see something in 1-4... like less hairs in the sink or less itching.

Has anyone seen no progress on Propecia - but then seen it start working around the 5-7 month mark?

Please share the examples you have experienced or know from others.

I saw NO results from Propecia during the first 7 months or so. On month 8, I am now pretty sure that my hair loss is stopping. I also happen to have started Rogaine 5 weeks ago, so maybe it is the combination of the two. No re-growth yet, though.

In other words, my hair is significantly worse than it was 8 months ago, but it has seemed to plateau. Hoping it gets better from here??

Well, i would be more careful with such categoric afirmations.
They are not true, at least not for all people. There are people who keep results on propecia for 10+ years, and people for whom propecia doesn't work at all.
So stop spamming.

10+ years does not equal lifetime. No need to be offended... I am just stating the facts. Do you want me to lie to you and pretend like it will work the rest of your life? Why say that when you can prepare now while propecia temporarily works to keep your hair above baseline? :hump:

Sorry but to state it loses effect after 2 years is unfair, i have read of loads of people you havd had positives results for 10 years plus, no one mentioned a lifetime so were you getting that from? Been proven to be effective over 5 years in a vast majority!

You're not going to see any regrowth in 7 months.

It should however stop your hairloss fairly quickly. I believe it stopped my hairloss within a month.

The dreaded 'male pattern baldness itch' stopped almost immediately once I started taking it.

I know you say you're still itching but are you sure your hair is actually getting worse? Are you taking photos? As I say in my sig, don't rely on counting hairs to judge your loss, it's meaningless.

If you are totally sure you hair is still getting worse after say 6 months, then it probably would be time to stop taking Propecia.

Personally though if you have no side-effects I'd still be inclined to keep taking it for a bit longer just to be sure, as it really is your best bet in stopping male pattern baldness.

Thanks hairhoper! Good response. But why is it not effective to count hairs? I see other responses where users say that after 1-4 months on Propecia they noticed less hair falling out (hairs in the sink for example). So, if other users say the result of Propecia is less itch and less hair falling out - then shouldnt I assume things are not working? Because I still have bad itch and still have the same amount of hair falling out of my head in front of me. Two years ago I had 2-3 hairs fall out when getting ready in the morning - now I have 100. I guess it is possible that Propecia is still helping a little bit but I don't see much change.

Anyone else have thoughts?

propecia was down hill for the first year for me....then picked up ....then went down hill......just starting to feel its working at 20 months

I have been on finasteride for 1 year and have seen some good results. I have pictures posted on the success forum. I would say that I started to see some very subtle results around month four. However, I will stress what everyone else on here says. You must be patient. I am at one year and results continue to get better. I have stopped counting hairs in the shower. My hair still comes out in my hands when I wash it, yet it continues to get thicker and healthier with the use of finasteride. My advice is be patient and dont worry about the hair that comes out in the shower. It means nothing. Some days I have two hairs come out, other days I have 25. Good Luck!

As far as shedding less hairs go, I saw that in the first couple of weeks. Almost immediately.

As far as halted hair loss goes, or so it seems as if it's halted, or maybe it''s just super slowed down shedding, that happened in the first month. By the second month it felt like it was completely stopped.

I'm in my 9th month now and I would say i've maintained and it's been minimum hair growth. I would just say my hair loss hasn't gotten worse. It looks like it's gotten better, I have had some comments from people telling me I appear to have more hair. I also used Kirklands for 7 months, I am now on Rogaine for 1 month.
