Propecia to Dr. Reddy horror story...

Greetings,

Background: In 2008, being a Norwood 5V, I went on Propecia. I had success in that it stopped the loss (what was left) and regrew a bit on the crown. In late 2009, and in 9/2012, I had hair transplants.

By 1/2013, after the second transplant, hair was filling in nicely. In 2/2013, I switched to Dr. Reddy and within less than two weeks, a massive shed began. I quickly switched back to Propecia but now, 11 weeks later, the shed continues. *All* of the transplanted hairs that were coming in, fell out and *all* new hairs, the thin colorless hairs, grow a little and fall out.

Has anyone experienced shedding of new 'baby' hairs? Thoughts on if they will return once the shed stops. My Dr. said those hairs should grow back but I'm looking for any feedback.

Thank you.

The transplanted hairs were in the initial growing stage and coming in at a fast pace. It was during this time I switched over to a generic propecia. The Dr. said this was probably the stressor that put my hair into the telogen phase. He said that new hairs, those that are growing almost continuously, are most susceptible as they are most likely to receive the signal to go into the resting phase.

I guess it makes sense but yeah, I'm 'losing' all the transplanted hair. It was just horrible timing to go into the telogen phase. Just curious if others have had a similar situation.
