I'm 23, been on Propecia for about 2 years now and I've gone through various growth cycles, as well as some crazy shedding cycles. I used to use minoxidil 5% 2x a day, until i realized i wasn't really gettin any substantial results. Recently, I've been shedding quite a lot (about 10-20 hairs when washing) and the hairs that I notice are the fine, lightly pigmented hair sometiems called vellus hairs. I'm not sure of what to think of this... is this a sign that propecia is slowing it's effectiveness or is it a sign that these hairs will grow back stronger and thicker?

Another quesiton I have is that I have noticed that when I comb my hair, my scalp has a lot of clogged pores (i know this because those hard sebum deposits are logged in my scalp, and when I comb my hair they fall out) It's like when you get a whitehead, where your pore is clogged and you pop it out of the pore, the thing that comes out is a hard white sebum material. Well that's what I find on my scalp as well... How can i treat this? I feel as though clogged pores on my scalp is one cause of my retarded hair growth.

Also, has anyone noticed a halt in their hair growth? When I was like 20 or so, my hair grew very fast, I had to get it cut once a month, but now, my hair seems to have slowed it's growth by more than half. What good exercises techniques vitamines etc are good for hair growth? Thanks.

Are you using Nizoral?
If not, give it a try.
Also try T-Sal.

Added pictures of my HAIR

I've added pictures of my hair so that you can see the degree of my thinning/hair loss.... Do you think I am not yet at the point of a hair transplant. My hair in the back as you can see is quite thick and has lots of volume. It creates a definite contrast with the front which is thinner with less volume. Would a hair transplant re-create the volume in the front equal to that of the back? Thanks

At the point of a -- hair transplant?

Actually, a point suitable for a hair transplant is one of the few things that I'm not able to spot on your head.

You didn't include a top view, which might or might not have changed my opinion, but at the moment I think you should just focus on keeping what you have. You might have a bit less volume in the front than in the back, but so do most of my male and female friends.
