Hi I'm interested in Propecia (both parents suffer from ... but not my grandparents ...don't know if that;s important but thought to mention it)

Anyway I was on the propecia official site and know that merck says its by prescription. drugstore.com wants a prescrption. But I am not too happy talking about the issue with anyone, even a doctor so I found other site that seem legit without a prescription. Question, are any of these non prescription websites (some are like $10 cheaper) legitimate? Meaning if I do get Propecia, I do want the full version; not some Indian pharmacy, etc., that has screwed up with the chemical proportions.

Please help!!!!

BTW I'm about 23 male (obviously).

Thanks all

yo man, your not the only joe walkin up in the office about hair loss...I went to a clinic and they said they have over 10 patients a week seeking help for hair loss. Step outta your shell and go out and get a prescription, it takes under 10 minutes for a consultation. IF you go online for meds, and NO, I don't know any websites, your probably gonna pay more, and who the hell knows what kinda sh*t your getting. Try and man up and go see the Doctor, trust me , they have seen alot worse than a balding man.

Yeah you should see a doctor and get a presciption. You will have peace of mind knowing its the genuine stuff.
Though I went to two doctors and they didn't give me a presciption, saying that its mainly for the crown and not for the hairline and also about the sides.
But if i did get a presciption it I would have got it for free, due to a drugs payment scheme in my country.

I know this does not help answering your direct question but I hated walking into my hair transplant Doctor where the first thing all the patients in the waiting room look at how much hair you have or don't have...screw that anymore :jackit: ..online only from India!!! :agree:

Why does this question come up and people flock to Merck's aide? Merck had the BPH patent until '06, but retain the male pattern baldness patent until '13, so generics can be marketed for BPH (aka the Proscar 5MG pill) worldwide without infraction. There are four or five companies that actively market generics at this time, and why people bag on them I have no idea. Especially gigantic worldwide companies like Dr. Reddy's that are huge public entities. 99% of people on this site and/or their parents take generics for a host of other more critical things without flinching. It's laughable that people here think finasteride is some sort of mystery drug. It is - in fact - far down the food chain in terms of important generics that have changed the world by making critical drugs more affordable to the masses.

And as for pill cutting, give me a break. Ask someone with something like Type 2 Diabetes why the Doctor says it's OK to cut pills. Especially when their life depends on it.

Cliff Notes: order generic.
