Proscar Cut into 1/5ths

Hi,

I am looking to start using Proscar, cut into 1/5ths for the 1mg of finasteride per day. Since my dermatologist will only prescribe me Propecia, and since that is not economically feasible for me, I feel that Proscar is the best way to go. His reason for not giving me Proscar was, essentially, to cover his own a$$, and basically conceded that I would have essentially the same results. I don't blame him, but I can't afford the price tag of Propecia.

Now to my question: I am looking to buy the actual Merck product, Proscar -- where is the best place to buy this online? I have seen support on this site for elite net pharm and united pharm -- but I am not sure which products are actually legitimate. Can anybody swear by either site from experience? Or, am I best served finding someone to give me a prescription and buying in the states? Please let me know.

Ohh, and I am a 25 year old NW2 progressing to NW3. Thanks.

United has legit fincar. Never ordered Proscar from them but I
would assume it was OK too. There is no way I would have
achieved my results if it was fake.

cutting them into 1/5's isn't great imo - the content is unevenly spread throughout

unitedpharmacies.co.uk - cheap finasteride on there (this is propecia) - £30 for 100 tablets, a bit cheaper than you thought eh?

That is extremely unlikely, medications are made to be homogeneous. If that were true then that would mean that each and every proscar tab would have to be made individually to ensure that it contains the correct amount of finasteride, this means huge production charges and a low rate of production which means profit loss. I strongly doubt that a pharmaceutical giant like mereck would take this path when they can simply make a homogeneous mixture and make thousands of tabs at once, it is simply impractical that they would do anything but use a homogeneous mixture.

This is what I was thinking . . . Coupled with the fact that the drug remains in your body for several days, therefore a 1.2 dosage one day one and a .8 dosage on day two will likely have a negligible difference on the effect of the drug.

The half-life of finasteride is only around 5-8 hours, depending on your age. But it's not really relevant, anyway.

I cut my proscar into fifths, I use tweezers and a surgically sharp cutting knife I bought from an arts and crafts store. It takes me about 1 minute every 5 days, and it is very easy to do after a little practice. I attached the pill cutting schematic, however I cut piece 1 a little bit bigger, just slightly below the middle of the S.

I'm only 3 months in, but having good results, and its only costing me about $180/year directly from the pharmacy.

My opinion regarding purchasing drugs online is not favourable, especially for a drug that is processed by your liver, and can take up to a year to work.
For piece of mind, I'd suggest talking to another doctor, one who is more educated on the subject and purchasing directly from a pharmacy. I know I'd be worrying the whole time if my drugs were real, since I still lose a lot of hair everyday and this has never really slowed down, yet my hair is definately improved. That's just my 2 cents regarding proscar, its just too important to take a chance on this one.
