Hi.

Been using Proscar since August 6th, 2009 till now.
287 days (9 months ++)
So far got results.

viewtopic.php?f=30&t=57407&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

Normally I cut the 5mg into 5 pieces (1mg per day)
Can last 5 months.

Is it ok if I cut it into 8 pieces now?

8 pieces @ 0.625 per day.
Can last for 8 months.

My question:
Will I lose the progress I'm having now?

8 should be fine. Mine is so cheap it would make little difference. But if you are getting it brand name from a Doctor, cut them in 8. I should do that too for a while until I get another shipment. Never know if it might get blocked and some dumb Doctor might not give you a prescription.

Small scissors :)
Put it on my palm and cut it.
Lick any small 'debris' of it...nothing wasted

Based on the picture below.
Normally that's how I took it.

Now, for 'Cut #1 (piece 1)' I'll cut it in 1/2.

The rest, I'll cut it into 6 pieces.

I have had difficulty cutting my generic circular Fincar into more than 4 pieces.

So far best results with an old school razor blade.

You should be fine with cutting them into 8 parts. If you were a good responder at 1mg.

Keep in mind that finasteride is a very flat dosage dependency for most individual.

Clinical trials show that even .2mg is 80% of 1mg. So in most individuals anything over .5mg is a wash.

There are those who do not responder well to finasteride at 1mg but based off your results I would not see any reason to believe that you were not a good responder.
